People think I'm strange when I yell in class.

People think I'm strange when I jump up and down and act energetic.

People think I'm strange when I read dramatically.

People think I'm strange when I ask people about their family and friends.

People think I'm strange when I stand on chairs and jump off in front of them.

People think I'm strange when I tell stories about hunting moose in canada.

People think I'm strange when I talk off the top of my random head.

People think I'm strange when I talk in a italian/middle eastern accent. It used to be middle eastern, but apparently the spanish-y accent shows through now. ):

People think I'm strange when I am myself.

People think I'm strange when I literally cannot understand what they are talking about until I can hold said item in my hand.

My cousin is like that. You're a tangible learner? Like you need to hold the thing in your hands in order to understand it. It's like very rare. Usually people are auditory or visual.

I think all Sensing types learn better tangibly.

I don't know about that. I've thought about it, and I think I am both visual and auditory in different ways, but more auditory. Like with spanish, I learn very well by hearing it and just repeating it aloud 2-3 times. I can read very well silently, or possibly by very quietly mouthing it sometimes if it's a confusing passage.

In sports or machinery, you could say I learn by doing, but I don't learn by touching something, like my cousin does. He is autistic, and he needs to touch objects in order to understand them. Needless to say, he has a tough time with math or reading. He would need to be catered to in those areas extensively.

Yeah, a tangible/kinesthetic learner. Like today someone was telling me how a cup that she put in the dishwasher was broken and even though she kept showing me what was broken it didn't "click" in my head until I actually grabbed the cup and took the top apart (the broken part).

Incidentally, whenever I go to a museum it literally kills me that I can't touch the paintings. I sneak a touch in to get the texture and after that I can actually appreciate it a little more.

    ....Yeah I'm weird.

(And I am a terrible auditory learner... you could tell me 50 times and I'd still find a way to fuck it up )

Are you constantly touching your computer screen?

no man, it's just rare-ish. I think it makes sense for "The Craftsman."

I'm confused though. I read both descriptions of auditory and visual, and I agree with both almost exactly. And the kinetic learner, I agree with half of it.

Where are you getting these q's from? it's all true.
And No, I don't have to touch my screen because all those years through school, teachers pretty much hammered into my head to become a visual learner. So while i'm not good at learning via reading, im not terrible either.

... yes I lick my finger and touch an iron to see if it's ready. If it sizzles, it's good to go! And with paint, I touch it mostly to see how the paint feels on my hand.

It's weird how these things seem so significant after the fact. But I wouldn't trust so much that it was important to the future of science... although it would probably have made a very inspiring joke. I know that I've tried to prove older mathematicians wrong in the past, and just ended up spending several days figuring out that I was wrong. There was even a time when I thought I had created a counterexample to the Four Color Theorem - I carved it on my headboard, and I thought it was correct until I looked back at it a few weeks later and found a way to color it in a way that satisfied the four color theorem. Well, it was fun anyway.

I did that learning style tests in school once. I'm almost right down the middle with all three, although a little less tangible and a little more auditory.

People think I'm strange when I say something that appears to be totally random, but then ties into something somewhere when they finally make the connection.

People think I'm strange when I'm drunk and singing along to Peter Andre songs at the top of my lungs in public bars.

I'm a visual learner. But I am NOT going to color-code my notes, or even take notes (except in extreme situations). Maybe I have a touch of auditory as well.

Maybe, with none of them, you read the teacher's mind. Eh, kinda makes sense for ...

Yeah, I definitely have the least ability to learn via auditory methods. Like if I closed my eyes while you were talking to me, it'd be as good as me covering my ears hah.

For the longest time I realized something was wrong when the other kids started learning better with diagrams and charts of plants while I still wanted to go outside and touch the parts of plants and smell/touch the sap to get a better idea of this whole photosynthesis thing. Being a kinesthetic learner sucks.

My favourite learning style is kinesthetic - auditory would be second. I definitely learn best by doing something. Someone can show me how to do something over and over and I'll still be 'what?' until I actually practice doing it myself. If I'm reading something that I have trouble understanding, I'll usually read it out loud to myself.

People think I'm weird when I pull funny faces out of the blue.
People think I'm weird when I can't stop laughing about something that is apparently not that funny.
People think I'm weird when I get emotional about stupid little things.
People think I'm weird that I can be quiet one minute and then all hypo the next.
People think I'm weird just in general I think.

I can understand things when people talk them out too....but it really does help if they're accompanied by some physical demonstration or a really good detailed example or various hand gestures, etc. Or when they walk you through the problem, so you learn how to solve it yourself.

Lately I've been noticing that I don't pay attention to people's words as much as I should...they're talking away, and I'm nodding like I understand, but I'm really not listening to their words so much as paying attention to their movements and physical presence. It's weird.
Yeah - I do that too. There's this friend of mine who talks a mile a minute - and really intensely too. After a while it's gets too mentally exhausting to process everything she says - so I tune out and I'm just nodding at appropriate intervals and finding her intensity fascinating. And then she'll say something like 'I love talking to you - I can tell you really understand me. A lot of people don't get what I'm trying to say'. lol It's good to know I can look intelligent even when I'm not thinking ha ha

I love how our sigs say the same thing yet do not conform at all.

Like, you know when you're trying your best to listen, but you know that what they really need is a simple hug? But to hug them would require crossing the personal bubble, plus tons of other various barriers?
I never understood the personal bubble. I never recognized it. I wanna tear it down like the Berlin Wall.

I think I have that kind of listening, and not the first kind. Like, you know when you're trying your best to listen, but you know that what they really need is a simple hug? But to hug them would require crossing the personal bubble, plus tons of other various barriers?
I know what you mean. I don't really take what people say at face value - not that I don't believe what they're saying - I just like to understand what their motives are in saying such-and-such a thing and what they're feeling and that sort of thing.

I never understood the personal bubble. I never recognized it. I wanna tear it down like the Berlin Wall.
You don't relate to that wikipedia stuff about us getting uncomfortable when people are too close to us?

Oh I definitely do. It is a very confusing issue for me. When I was young, I would always touch people and get into their "bubble".

When I get close to people I feel good because of the closeness, but if someone gets close to me, especially from behind, I get uncomfortable. It's weird as I said, I need to initiate the closeness in a way.

Yeah - there is something contradictory about it. I don't mind other people initiating it if I like them. But from behind is definitely uncomfortable. (that doesn't sound too good lol)

What about when other people hit me and throw their food at me and put their feet on me? Sometimes I actually like it.
No offense dolphin, but that sounds BSDM.
