Why do you think that ISFj is not a possible alternative?

I'd be much more comfortable with ISFj tbh. It would make a ton more sense.

But my mother is ISFj, the model A describes her perfectly. The Fi base, the tendency to yell at you if you don't listen to her exactly, which I believe is Se creative. The Ne PoLR. She hates the randomness my father and I produce at times. She cannot imagine future happenings without something negative popping up. Her entire aura is no-nonsense. She is definitely a Fi valuer with an Ne PoLR.

I am similar to her in the Fi category, which I probably took from her. But I know I am SEI because of my caregiving option. Even ask Cancer, I love to caregive. I seek Ne, read my random writing. I used to love cracking jokes in the Alpha forum, until this Fi thing came up. I read the SEI-Fe subtype description, and I highlighted 90-95% of it. ISFj is just not me.

Having "morals" has nothing to do with having strong Fi as opposed to strong Ti. That is a terrible misconception that should be thrown out immediately.

It is clear Carla. Morality is a facet of Fi, absolutely. Fi non-valuers try to find a way to explain the world without moral interference. Now, you can have morals without valuing Fi, of course. If I'm SEI, which I am 100% sure of, I don't value Fi. But the idea is that ENTp's and others disregard Fi for the security of Ti.

You know, I used to think my mom was ISFj too. I think it's a mother thing. The ISFj description sounds alot like many *(not all) mothers, doesn't it? lol. I think that since she's your mother, your perspective will possibly tend to lean in a certain direction. It might not be possible for you to come to an accurate type for her. You should try to get some outside input.

Can you provide a definition of Fi ("introverted ethics")?

I am poor at Socionics, but if Cancer is ENTp, she has an Fi PoLR. And she claimed that she does not get angry easily, but she was literally offended and disgusted by my posts. Because I was discussing morality from religion and other outside sources, it would make sense to say that my morality talk hit her PoLR.

What I really want to know is, are you really going to leave Alpha?

I don't see the point of staying.

I won't give you a functional explanation of why you guys are disagreeing. That would be BS, because I don't understand Socionics much at all. But still, IMHO, religion is sort of a sensitive topic. I won't dig my grave by arguing for or against it. But I've seen people get into heated debates many times over religion. Just saying. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with types or functions.

Fi is an introverted, rational, static information element. It's similar to Ti in that a person with leading Fi, for example, enjoys constructing systems. The difference is that the Ti system is based on "robotic, logical" links whereas the Fi system is built on more seemingly "judgemental, self-righteous"-type links.

Now an INTj or an ENTp, for example, can have a perfectly good moral view on what's "right and wrong" (eg: it's not nice to steal candy from a child). Ti simply prefers to discuss things in terms of Ti links instead of Fi links. So to hear an Fi-type "lecturing" on what is "right and wrong" often comes across as just down-right annoying to Alpha NTs in many instances, because they figure "sure, we know that already" or "sure, that's your system, but I can create my own personal ethical links too, and it's just that I'm not going to sit around talking about my ethical links because talking about my logical ones is way more fun".

Alpha NTs certainly don't disregard their sense of what's "right and wrong" in favour of their Ti though.

On another subject: Whether Cancer's ideas of what's "right and wrong" line up with your ideas is purely an individual thing and if you have different ideas of what's "right and wrong" you're just going to have to agree to disagree. What is probably annoying her PoLR though, is not your view of what's "right and wrong", but the continuous discussion and imposition of your Fi-systems on her.

I'm actually of the same opinion in this one. There is some J-ness going on there once in a while, but if you live with an ISFj, and you respect her a lot, perhaps it has rubbed off? Farked if I know tbh. But yeah Kam, I still think you're mostly SEI. And don't go because of ^^^^^.

Allie can't go either because she has too much to offer! Although I am fairly sure she's alpha anyway. Not that I would know Alpha from, say, a tin of herrings.
