No. If you like someone then you like them. I wonder how you could explain the breakup if at one point you realised they were Ip not Ij or something, and you ended it despite it going ok.

So far, the answer to that question would be no.

at this point i feel like it's nearly like saying i wouldn't date someone b/c of their star sign. what cyclops suggested seems like a flimsy reason to end a relationship.

Nope. In fact, none of the people I've "dated" have actually been in my quadra.

It's stopped me from being interested in someone I'd blatantly have no chance with anyway, if that counts.

    The question is vague.

However, knowing someone's socionic type has not prevented me from dating, talking, or yes, even having dinner with people from outside my quadra.

At its core, socionics seems validated based on my experience in who I really have the most psychological ease of interacting with.

After having looked back on people I have known and who was the best for me to date (whether or not I actually did it) I think the best people for me have been from Delta. They have also been my dual Te subtype or my activity partner Te subtype. I don't think socionics is anything like astrological types, or even the enneagram (although I think this affects relationships, I don't think it affect them as much as socionics does).

Having said that, I just don't really want to date anyone right now, so even people in my own quadra seem a little scary.

Nope, unless there started to be some serious problems. In that case, I might use socionics to try to solve them or eventually be more motivated to give up.

Yes. Beta can be too manipulative. Evasion and covert control games are fun for a while but I won't open up emotionally to someone I can't trust as far as I can throw them.

I get along with Alpha over the long-term. I also test ILI half the time, so that may be why we relate.

yes. It's always followed the inter-type relations descriptions to a T. So it's no different than getting involved w/ someone with very different religion/politics/location...not a deal breaker to start, but could make it tough later.

Now, obviously if someone really knocked off my socks then I probably wouldn't care as much. But usually that fades quickly...you will probably notice a lot of posts by me that say things like "Comparitive/conflicting/etc relationships are GREAT!!! And then like two weeks/months later...um....so I was wrong about that...
