I don't know exactly how to interpret it into functions and whatnot but I think his self-depreciating sense of humor is an important aspect of his personality. Intuitively I want to say delta... that could be just because I like him so much though.
incidentally one of my parents best friends was June Carter's (Johhny 2nd wife, Reese Witherspoon from the movie) best friend growing up (and throughout adulthood) so I may be able to get some real insight on his personality here... might be a while though.
So far I do know that the movie "Walk the Line" is supposedly a very true to life representation of Johhny (obviously Hollywoodised a little though and only focusing of certain aspects of his life)

I would have said Johnny estp and june esfj, but is based on the movie so I don't know how accurate that is.
