Default Comedy typing - It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

Hard to say, but it's hilarious to me. FWIW, it's been called 'Seinfeld on crack'. You've probably noticed I've been inserting video clips here and there. Naturally, whatever types they're representing seem to be caricatures. There are continual themes of internecine competition, ridiculous scheming to get rich, and eccentric moments of closeness that seem to filter into the show in very comical ways.

I think Te > Ti, Ni > Ne, Se > Si. Overall, I'd lean more towards Gamma, but feast your eyes (though the show's material is notably controversial, so be warned) and post some thoughts if any strike you. At the very least enjoy yourself!

    Sweet! Awesome!

This should be in the What's My Type section if I wasn't such an SOB.

I think we must live in the same house or something because we pretty much watch exactly the same shows

FWIW most of them seem SEI to me (maybe it's just cause I identify so much with them ) especially Charlie. Dee seems ILE but that's probably just cause that's what I think the actress is. For sure a load of alphas though

I could buy Charlie as an ISFp. I think he's the funniest of the bunch. Dennis as a character for some reason makes me think ENFj. The timing and chemistry between them all is just perfect though.

I don't know this show. I watched a couple of clips here. I didn't laugh once. Actually it made me a little sad because they are so mean to each other. Usually comedies don't have that effect on me.
    EIE, ENFj, intuitive subtype.

There's still better comedy shows out there but this one 's great nonetheless.

This show is hilarious and addictive. You can watch whole episodes on MSN. I love it.

"His feeling that this world is not his Fatherland, and that it does not represent his proper condition, so to speak—his feeling that, basically, he 'comes from afar'—will remain a fundamental element which will not give rise to mystical escapism and spiritual weakness, but rather will enable him to minimise, to relativise, to refer to higher concepts of measure and limit, all that can seem important and definitive to others, starting with death itself, and will confer on him calm force and breadth of vision." — Julius Evola

This show is amazing. I always laugh my ass off and then I feel kind of guilty about it because it's wildly inappropriate, but it's just so funny.

I think Mac is ILE, Dennis is a Beta extrovert, and Charlie is probably SEE, but I'm the least sure about that one. I really don't have a clue about Dee's type. Beta or Gamma?

Did you know that in real life Charlie and the waitress are married? lol

As are Mac and Dee, though not at the time that the show started.

I LOVE this show. I never get the chance to watch it.

I would have thought it was more Beta/Alpha? I don't know; don't watch enough.

Really? Interesting, I honestly never saw the shows humor as being "mean" at all when I watched it. I just remember it being very easy to watch and incredibly funny.

I guess this probably gives points to it being Beta.

bump. i'm addicted... these people remind me of my dad's side of the family, who incidentally live in philly and jersey. they're mostly beta.

idk what type they are, dennis is clearly a sociopath and its hilarious. actually there's a lot of mild sociopathic humor... just kind of scheming.

their decisions and adventures are pretty retarded, fucked up, and illogical, but it almost seems like they have their own code to it all.

aristocratic too, no? arguing over who gets to be in the gang, etc. its pretty much them vs normal people

I think Frank is gamma... Charlie's my favourite, he's actually likeable and someone you could possibly be friends with who wouldn't screw you over right away.

I love this show, but I hate Seinfeld. This show seems to have a mix of alpha, beta, gamma, with a void of delta. Seinfeld is really alpha biased.

I mean... Ok but your profile pic is a picture of one stick figure poking another stick figure in the eye and I assume it's being presented as humorous.

    Charlie Ne/Si > Ni/Se
    Dennis - E**J
    Mac - Ti-ego
    Dee - Static - Aristocratic

If i were to guess, i'd guess
    IEE - Charlie
    EIE - Dennis
    SLE - Mac
    EII - Dee
I would say that ethically you are still supposed to act as if you have unilateral responsibility; but simultaneously you have to be able to see the other as a fully autonomous, free, aware person.

Medicalizing social problems has the additional benefit of rendering society not responsible for those social ills. If it’s a disease, it’s nobody’s fault. Yay empiricism.
