Default Functions as aspects of reality?

In your opinion, what is the relationship that each function has to reality?

Also, how can a function contradict another function on the same axis, and represent reality at the same time?

And is the person who is more balanced in all areas (different functions) in life more realistic?
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."
    --Theodore Roosevelt

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
    -- Mark Twain

so for example Te vs. Fe?

my understanding is that different functions process different aspects of reality. so all functions relate equally to reality (no function perceives reality better than any other function), just that they focus on different parts of reality.

I think a person who demonstrates balanced use of functions should have a more complete view of reality, but that's not to say someone who has a very narrow usage of the functions is blind to reality, rather they just have a very narrow view of it

Out of all there is to view, you see this and I see that. Pieces and parts. Contradictions are mostly apparent but not real. Not Enough Information. The balanced one sees best, generally, but in forsaking the greatest debacles so too forgoes the deepest insights. Give and take and choices to make. You may or may not choose, but you certainly must be you.

He's asking whether the functions have an open ended intersection with reality or are self contained, thus making people more balanced.

This is defined by model A. Unless you're talking about defining Ne, Se, etc. (in which case an IM conversation would be the easiest way for me to explain them).

Also, how can a function contradict another function on the same axis, and represent reality at the same time?
If I'm looking at the front of a house and you're looking at the back, we're seeing different things. What what each of us is seeing doesn't contradict what the other is seeing though, we're just seeing different perspectives of the same thing.

btw (going back to this post), this is why each axis contains the information elements it does. If I'm looking at the front of the house, I'll be able to see a little bit of the top and sides. It's the part I can't see any of that I'll need more information in order to know anything about.

And is the person who is more balanced in all areas (different functions) in life more realistic?

I hope it's not off topic or anything, I was just wondering if any of you have the tendency to think you're good at a function you're really not good at all?
Si and Ni are more similar to each other than they are to any other information elements. The "opposite" of Ni is Se, and the "opposite" of Si is Ne.

hmmmm I thought I may have understood the question, but if you're right, I didn't.

ahahah I'm right if my leading function is closer to reality than the average rational function, as long as the balance is bidirectional.

It's not. It's all in how you define "reality", I suppose.
