Default MBTI ISFJ/ISFP and Socionics ISFp/ISFj

There's a sort of controversy about J/P and the reason for it is Keirsey's SJ seems like S rational to a lot of Socionists whereas his SP seems like S irrational. According to MBTT this should not be so -- either Keirsey's descriptions are out of line or MBTT itself is.

Please only respond if your first three letters are I, S, F.

errr well ok I'm ISFp AND ISFP
but FiSe in Myers Briggs doesn't mean the same thing that it means in socionics...that's why I'm ISFP AND ISFp.

    I'm FiSe in MB
    and SiFe in socionics

    got it?

    WAIT OOPS!
    Ok is kiersey like socionics?
    *googles kiersey*

Ok in kiersey I'm an Artisan sensing perciever. Specifically "The Composer" aka ISFP.

Just took that silly Kiersey test.

I got Artisan. I look through all 4 artisans, and I must say I am a Composer.

    Same here, ISFP and ISFp.

    Cool, thanks for the feedback
How do you ISFps see yourself differing from ISFjs? Like, what convinces you the most that you aren't a guardian?

My mom is a definite ESI/ISFj, so I know I differ from her.

I can't guard anything, not even my lunch money.

Also, She is soooo big on morality, but that is easily explained by generational gap.

The idea of new ideas/unknown is big here. A PoLR for one is seeking for another.

But overall, the idea of guarding people doesn't strike me as something I'd do. I need to be guarded.

Know any ESEs? I wonder if the difference between seeking versus activating is the basic difference we're seeing here...

I agree with you Kamangir re the morality thing. ISFjs to me seem to have standards that they are duty-bound to live up to. They appear very self-sacrificing - they will put their responibilities and others' needs above their own needs. Us ISFps are kind too - but more in a spontaneous way - because we feel for the person and want to help them - not because it is something we feel duty-bound to do. I admire ISFjs' willpower and self-sacrificing nature, but feel they can be too judgemental of others who don't have those traits.

What's the deal with Keirsey? The way I've heard it is that he took Jungian/MBTI types and decided it would be better to have just 4 types instead of 16. WTF?

Um no. There are still 16 types. They are divided into 4 groups allegedly corresponding to the 4 classical humors. His idea was that NT, NF, SJ, and SP were all four of the humors.

The question is, did he mean MBTT SJ/SP or Socionics SJ/SP? Or is there a difference?
