    Default Temperaments

I want to do a temperament thread and start fresh. What characteristics do you observe with the EP, EJ, IP, IJ temperaments, and how would you personally define each?. It's late right now so I'll post my two cents when I get more energy

I have the wiki to go off.

Out of interest, was it just Expat who wrote that, or did, for example, Rick or niffweed make a contribution? How widespread are the traits observed in each temperament typical to their respective temperaments?
Ideas don't determine who's right. Power determines who's right. And I have the power. So I'm right.

I wrote the bulk of it, with Rick, thehotelambush, machintruc and niffweed, and probably still others, also commenting.

Temperaments have been described at length by Gulenko, Lytov, and there was a very good article (whose author I forget now) that Kristiina posted. The wiki is meant to be a distillation of those, plus bits of personal observations here and there.

The bit on explaining temperaments via Static/Dynamic and Rational/Irrational is my own understanding, but anyway that's not necessary to understand the other points.

As for "how widespread": that applies to anything regarding socionics. For instance, in your case: you say you don't seem EP, but you seem to write a lot here out of boredom and/or impulsiveness, which to me is very EP.

This isn't the case. It's part of my morning routine. And I actually enjoy learning about and discussing socionics. I'm rarely bored, and I limit my impulsiveness to shopping for books, games, DVDs and CDs.

Is this attributable to all SLEs? And what do you mean by it exactly?

I do wonder if you being Ij temperament influences that view of Eps. Personally I don't really notice that which you've said, but then again I'm wondering if that's because of the dual temperament.

I'm not too sure really.. I mean, I see the spontaneity and all that, which generally amuses me (in a good way). I also see them as being quite active (physically or mentally, moreso the accepting subtypes though) although I personally wouldn't consider it chaotic as such. In a way I see them as similar to me, except with more energy and motivation, if that makes sense. One thing I've only come to notice recently (I find this more evident comparing Eps and Ejs than anything else) is that the Ejs I've known have a more.. rigid aura, so to speak. I'm not really sure how else to describe it. Comparing this with Eps who seem to have a more flexible or free-flowing aura. It's not really anything concrete and I only notice it when specifically comparing the two (e.g. comparing the ESFps I know with the ESFjs I know). I don't really notice this in isolation. Sorry if the last part about the auras doesn't make sense, it's just a kind of vibe I get from them. I don't really notice it as much when comparing Ips with Ijs though.
