    Default Nervousness

Is it 'type' related? Why are some under the impression a specific type cannot be nervous? How does it have anything to do with your type? What types are stereotypically more 'nervous' than others?

Result types are usually more nervous than Process types.

Why? Wouldn't "rushed" or "hyper" be more accurate? Nervous has a markedly negative connotation that cannot be ascribed to a precise type trait, imho.

Nervousness can take on many different forms depending upon the situation and context.

Nervous (N+) types process data faster.

And N+ is correlated to Result.

I think it would depend on the sort of nervousness, in what situations, and for what reasons...

Well....someone who just has a generally nervous disposition. Not limited to one specific thing; nervous about life in general.

Assuming the golden rule is valid for both transitions, you get a 0.62*0.62=0,3844 correlation for process exclusively for extraverts (because resut types might have N(result)>N(process), but N(result) does not necessarily equal +), which at its best explains a very small part of the variance.

Although it's probably obvious to you that it's about "life in general", I suggest it may be that you are thinking mainly of things and situations that make you nervous, and taking for granted those that do not (if you are referring to yourself)

However, the types most likely to make an impression on others of having a "generally nervous disposition" are EJs; ENTj and ENFj in particular, I think.

I've seen people of various types get nervous, anxious, concerned, whatever-the-fuck-you want-to-call-it over things that have happened, could happen, haven't happened, whatever. The point I'm making is that there are lots of reasons someone could be nervous about anything; while there could be some things that are type-related (e.g. one's super-ego/super-id functions), it doesn't preclude any type from nervousness, nor does it mean certain types are naturally more nervous than others. And I'm sure I had something else to say here, but I left to make some toast, came back and read a different thread and completely forgot about posting this. Oh well.

The most nervous people are those that have a type that does not coincide with their gender; ISTp females that look manly.

that is what i was getting at. if there is an inescapable appropriation that is required in the act of understanding, this brings into question the validity of socionics in describing what is real, and hence stubborn contradictions that continue to plague me.

I think it depends on the definition of nervousness. Do you mean the state of anxiety? Or are you talking about nerviness; as in an air of nervousness? These two ideas are quite different.
