There are Java chat plugins for VBulletin, right?
The problem with a chatroom is that people are having ten conversations at once. However, the pro is instant PMs.
FTR, dee spoke of one. #socionics (not to be confused with #socionix). He said seven people were on last time he was on. Perhaps this would be the best place for those who wish to to congregate.

Great, I'm not going to participate at all, though; chat was never much my thing, and I'm in a different time zone from most people anyway. I may use it for one-to-one chats though.

its an IRC chat room. i've never used IRC but i believe you need to download an IRC client to access it.

There exists web based clients for IRC e.g.

so you don't need to install anything.

yeah, i'm expecting that this isn't going to take off among people who aren't IRC-savvy. didn't mcnew have a nice little "chat now!" sort of button that led you to a javascript applet, which opened the IRC server for you and took you directly the chat, back when #socionics was still around?

I think you have to set yourself up as admin and password it, but I don't recall.

It is not the same #socionics that you are referring to. IRC consists of various different networks which are not connected to each other. So if you use Sorcery.net and go to #socionics it is not the same channel where we were in. We used a different network.
You can think of the difference as...we have a TV channel in my country whose name is "channel 1". Some other country or state or whatever place probably has a channel called "channel 1" too. But they don't broadcast the same program. They are channels in different networks. They just happen to have the same name.
