The ego is pornographic because it has the capacity to fully posess an object (ie. to understand the full implications and limitations of an object, to make a given object mundane). Any information relating to the superid block has the capacity to produce the sensation of higher imagery, to be something untenable or unreachable.

In a way, all of reality has the capacity to be pornographic. Reading a book is pornographic, raising a family is pornographic, cooking is especially pornographic. Anything that is mundane or limitted, is easy to access or complete, is pornographic. Hence, anything for which we are fully conscious of the mechanism at play, and of our own role in it.

The superid is valued but weak. Information in this block has the feeling of being sublime or unreachable. We can never fully concretize the information presented into the same concretizations that the ego is capable of. In the ego we can rotate the object, flip it, skew it, alter it and given it any shape or form that we desire. We are as gods over the most fundamental properties of the object. But the object as it exists in the superid is an amorphous, ambiguous thing, who's sole attachment to the individual is his yearning for it. The ego is a being for. The superid is a yearning for.
