    Default Tim McIlrath

Okay, this is a semi-famous person, so I'm guessing that he's an INFp based on lyrics, quotes, etc.

It's Tim McIlrath, frontman of the Chicago-based band, Rise Against.

Here are some pictures for VI purposes:

    (guy on the far right)

    And here are some lyrics:

    "Blood-Red, White & Blue"

So come test me, so come break me,
    So come on intoxicate me
With hands tied behind my back, I fight
And wait for you to strike

A new problem we can't stop them,
    We're outnumbered and uncautioned,
A rally cry ring out into the night

    [Chorus]
So pride yourself on what you are,
And hold them all to words they can't take back,
I've seen a place (it comes) to me in dreams
Where fires die but light still shines for us to see

What did you have to say?
Give me your logic, your definition,
The words you twist to justify your position
Of mass starvation and blind airstrikes,
Every problem is solved with a fight

    Peace won't be found,
    Til we're underground,
As long as we live without a sound

    [Chorus]
So pride yourself on what you are,
And hold them all to words they can't take back,
I've seen a place (it comes) to me in dreams
Where fires die but light still shines for us to see

Would God bless a murder of the innocents?
Would God bless a war based on pride?
Would God bless a money-hungry government? no.

Would God bless our ineffective court system?
God bless the sweatshops we run.
    Would God bless Amerika?
    God bless Amerika.

    and more:

    "Last Chance Blueprint"

    (Jane, he's a freak)
    (Well then so am I)
(And we'll always be freaks and we'll never be like other people)
(And you'll never be a freak 'cause you're just ... too perfect)

    Late nights and bloodshot eyes,
    clock ticking half past five,
we're barely breathing but we're still alive. Go!

Our plans are all laid out,
    take all these unmarked roads,
we blaze the trails to places no goes, yeah!

    One last chance to go,
if I don't leave tonight I never will, let's go!
    One last chance to go,
let's take it now in for the kill

    In time we find ourselves,
    back where we started from,
too weak to fight and much too tired to run, yeah!

    Before you swallow me
    into your perfect life,
I'm not going out without a fight

    One last chance to go,
if I don't leave tonight I never will, let's go!
    One last chance to go,
let's take it now in for the kill

(If I had to leave tonight would you come with me?)
    (What?)
(If I had to go to New York, and live, tonight, would you come with me?)

    But this blueprint's faded grey
and here it seems like just yesterday
when we mapped out the details of our great escape,

But still these roads all beckon me
    to uncover their mystery
but I fall like dead autumn leaves and let the jetstream carry me

    One last chance to go,
if I don't leave tonight I never will, let's go!
    One last chance to go

Boring Sidenote: I remember back when I discovered these guys back in March '04 (the day after my 13th birthday, I believe). I was looking in the record store where I live, for some band in particular (I can't remember what it was). Well, because I couldn't find it, and I needed to spend some cash, I saw a CD by Rise Against called Revolutions Per Minute, thought the cover looked interesting, so I bought it. I wasn't really expecting much from it because I never heard of these guys before. Well, so I popped the disc into my CD player on the way home, listened to it for a bit, and I was blown away. Seriously, it was so good that I immediately had like 5 new favorite songs after listening to the CD just once through. The interesting part was that my life took this really great spin right after buying the CD, and that next month was probably the best month of my life. Well, I haven't even grown tired of this band yet, and I've been listening to their songs over and over since that day in March 2004. There's not one song by them that I don't like. The vocals are amazing, as well as the guitar, drums, and bass.

Judging on the lyrics, do you guys think he's INFp? All I can see are a bunch of white triangles and black "L" shaped thingies. What do you guys all think?

I'm interested to hear everyone's comments about this.

I think he could easily be an INFP. I don't see any reason why not.

Maybe that's the reason why that's the only band where I've actually payed attention to the lyrics. Woo I just figured it out! haha

Give Smashing Pumpins and Nirvana a try... both Corgan and Cobain are INFPs, I think.

Oh yah, and the Red Hot Chilli peppers... according to socionics.com at least kiedis is also an INFP.... which I could easily see.

The only thing that makes me wonder about this guy is the fact that he's so politically contious.... at least it seems from what I'm reading here... I need to look up more lyrics. I'm not trying to generalize, I guess some INFPs are into politics, I just guess you see it less than you do more. INFPs in song writing though, I think, tend to concentrate more on self/internal termoil that that caused by political angst. They tend to go about songwriting with a very free flow attitude. Their lyrics more often then not are commonly modest, addmiting, very metphoric, dreamy, etc. They sometimes write lyrics that many people say make no sence whatsoever. (See Kurt Cobain...)

The way this guy handles himself in interviews seems very INFP to me though. He has an answer for everthing... as INFPs in interviews always seem to. It's as if he already knows the answer to the questions before he's asked, because most likely he's predicted being asked more than one of the questions that would stump most people before. And if he hasn't, INFPs tend to do pretty well on the spot.

There always seems to be such an honesty to INFP songwriting weather it be dark, confused, mystical, confessional because INFPs wont fake emotions. They may brood (once again, Mr. Cobain), bet they'll never fake.

    I hope I'm helping out.

I always did hate Tetris. I seriously wish the symbols were different. You know, like Te or Si... but apparently someone had to make things as difficult as possible.

Thanks, HarryBottom! Yeah, I also like Nirvana, and I listen to a little bit of RHCP.

I think you should possibly see an optomertrist
Whoa! Another INFp said the the same thing to me on another forum (and I'm positive he's INFp, because he acts like one, and I also tested him and that's how he turned out). I think I asked him a question regarding one of his posts, and he said something like, "Well that's a question for your optometrist, not me. "
