Thread: New Test Experiment: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS (Alpha version)

  1. #1

Default New Test Experiment: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS (Alpha version)

    PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS:
Ok. A new theory is currently being concocted in my mind. Now I need to do some experimenting. If you recall, I did something similar before. The tests I used, though, were very superficial in nature. Now I have a much better test. If and only if you are an INTj/LII, do take the following test:

    (1) http://mindmedia.com/braintest.html

Once you have finished, post your result in the poll.

Afterward (of lesser importance), if you have the time, you may take this other test:
    (2) http://web.tickle.com/tests/brain/au...index_main.jsp

If you feel inclined to do so, you may post the results to test # 2 in a thread post. DO NOT USE THE RESULTS OF TEST #2 TO POST IN THE POLL.

ASIDE: There were a number of questions where I could have equally picked either of two answers though.
Meh. Just pick either one of the Left options.

INTj is singular so it is "was".

    Were just sounds wrong.

It has absolutely nothing to do with INTj. It could be a cheesecake, a hoard of Indonesian farm-elephants, or one of your great-aunt's kidney stones. It doesn't matter. It will always be "were" as opposed to "was." It's the subjunctive.

    Silly ISFps.

And no, that is still grammatically incorrect.

    Exactly.

I looked at the wikipedia article for the subjunctive mood, and apparently when you use the subjunctive, you need to use "were". Of course no one bothers to unless they have no life and read grammar articles incessantly.

I don't read grammar articles incessantly. I have heard this only once.

I learnt about the subjunctive from learning Spanish - they use it alot more in their language. It's used when talking about doing something not as a reality but as a possibility. It used to also be used alot more in English whereas now it's just mostly implied: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subjunctive
