    Default PotatoSpirit's enneagram type

I'm curious to see if someone, especially those I met in Duesseldorf, have an opinion on my enneagram type.

As my mirror, I'm especially interested in your type, PotatoSpirit.

    Give a description of yourself.
Ideas don't determine who's right. Power determines who's right. And I have the power. So I'm right.

You seem to be an ISTj, so why wouldn't you be a One? Don't you identify with the descriptions of type 1?

I do identify with 1 the most, but with some other too, and I was only delaying an answer to your post to see if someone else had an idea.

I didn't think of your enneagram type separately from your socionics type, and I am inclined to think that LSIs tend to be 1s, so I'm not sure that I can make an "unbiased" typing.

But I wll try. I think that it is very difficult to see you as a 2, 3, 7, or 9, just from how you come across. 4 doesn't seem likely either.

So, if I knew nothing else about you, and just from how you came across, I think I would have reduced the possible types to 1, 5, 6 or 8, straight away.

I agree with Expat's last statement.

How do you feel about Eight and 6w5 out of curiosity?

Ah no one else I guess. I know nothing about enneagram, I just read some type descriptions, anyways:

    2,3,4,7 are nothing like me.
I tested 8w9 on one test and 1w9 on another.
1 seems the closest, as they are practical types, never satisfied with themselves, and for the way they deal with anger.
5 could be right, especially intellectual arrogance and eccentricity. Withdrawal too.
To be a 6 I'd have to be the "counterphobic" variant, I don't really know how to understand if I am, since they are supposed to be oblivious to their fearful condition.
I do relate to 8s' desire not to be controlled, but who wouldn't? I don't think that's the defining point of my character.
I somewhat relate to 9's "faith that everything will turn out ok", but the rest seems off.

    So I guess after 1w9 I would consider 5w6 and 6w5.

Brilliant, that's exactly the way to go about determining the difference between One and Eight. Although your first point I disagree with. Most Eights are also practical people.

Not really. Their strategy is fighting against their fear so that they don't feel it. Sooner or later you should recognise it if it's inherent within you. Their behaviour also shows this; they will irrationally hit out at imaginary things sometimes. Hitler is a good example of a cp6. He had an irrational, illogical hatred of Jews. Either that, or he had an irrational, illogical idea that the white European people were superior to black or Jewish people, and probably Asian people too.

I do relate to 8s' desire not to be controlled, but who wouldn't? I don't think that's the defining point of my character.
A lot of people go wrong here. Thankfully, you haven't made the same mistake. It's the way people misinterpret this desire to not be controlled. Basically, everyone desires it, but the Eight more than anyone is aware of people who attempt to manipulate them, because of past bad experiences. They are most defensive in this area of life, and refuse to be the most susceptible. The Eight will often react aggressively by pushing out at the world long before it can grasp a hold of them. In essence, in an Eight, everything comes secondary to independence of thought, creed, movement and action. In 8w9s, it is less evident, but it is still there.

I somewhat relate to 9's "faith that everything will turn out ok", but the rest seems off.
I say that was just optimism.

PotatoSpirit, I'm beginning to like you.

I'll be on the lookout for such signs then.

@Potatospirit: How are your mood and your drive ?

As far as I know, there's those main possibilities for LSI (i.e. the most frequent) :

8 : bad mood and high drive
1 : average mood and average drive
3 : average mood and high drive

I don't think LSI relate much to E6 (bad mood and average drive). It's a distant possibility, because ESI-6 is possible too. I mean, other Etypes are obscure for LSI's.

Mood means that either you have a dominant physiological feeling of enthusiasm (good mood), moodiness (bad mood) or none of both (average mood).

Drive means that either you have a dominant physiological feeling of high energy (or drive), moderate energy, or low energy. No matter if you spend or save it.

According to research, Etypes are related to levels of serotonin (mood) and dopamine (drive).

I would say average mood and either low or average drive. Is this what the enneagram types come out of? 3^2=9?

Yes. Or at least, it seems to be. If you have an average mood and a low/average drive, you're either E1 or E5.

I don't think an LSI can be E5, I've never seen an LSI-5.

    I'd say 6w5 for you.

btw, fwiw I haven't found the enneagram to be very useful (i.e., above and beyond what common sense would already tell you).
