I think behavior and what we say only reveal a certain slice of our personality. It does not really reveal the mechanisms within our mind that formulates our outward behavior. How I generally type is I try to see past behavior and look at consistent intent through out a series of interactions. When and what you said something is not as important as why and how.
Once we've established the consistency of intent and "patterns" rather then "locality" of behavior we can establish the preference of IM elements within the various model A blocks.
As far as typing the method, maybe intuitive and, depending on how you go about the analysis possibly either Ti or Fi (though I may be a little jaded in thinking to myself that it's Fi > Ti, which I'm sure you loooove to hear ). Overall, sounds like a rational approach to the process.
