    Default Composer Ralph Vaughan Williams

I'm not really really interested in this composer, but I looked at his pictures and had an instant type hypothesis. Any ideas?

My first thought was actually LII, but I can kinda see LSE.

    NT fo sho.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

it should be rather clear from the variety of responses that this having this discussion based on a three pictures and a soundbyte is rather pointless.

Well I just wanted people to at least hear what his music sounds like. It's nice stuff. Personally, based on previous discussions of information aspect states, it sounds to me, although I could see how one might interpret the mystical quality and surround-sound as /.

Naturally, the music itself doesn't pin down what type he was personally, but I wouldn't be surprised if he were Delta.

Wikipedia has the typical he-did-this-and-that sort of biography. One thing that caught my attention (although I don't think one can necessarily get the type from this) was this passage:

Being 40, he could have avoided war service. Having had a public school education, he could have tried for a commission. He chose to enlist as a private in the Royal Army Medical Corps and had a gruelling time as a stretcher bearer before being commissioned in the Royal Garrison Artillery. On one occasion he was too ill to stand, but he continued to direct his battery while lying on the ground. Prolonged exposure to gunfire began a process of loss of hearing which was eventually to cause deafness in old age. In 1918, he was appointed Director of Music, First Army and this helped him adjust back into musical life.
There's an interview you can listen to in RealPlayer format from this web page:

This clip is another excerpt from the same piece, but it's worth listening to.

I think LSE is not very likely after listening to some of the music. It seems... wistful, sentimental, and melancholic. He is probably some introverted type.

That narrows it down to 8 types then.

Apart from the person himself, what information aspects do you think the music evokes? It's interesting that the majority of youtube posts with his music contain images of pretty landscapes; I think it's not accidental, but rather is related to what people hear in his music. Do you see this as ? Or is it rather an view or idealization of or , due to the mysterious, mythical quality? Do you see the quality of being surrounded on all sides by sound as being indicative of or -?

What do you think of SLI (or EII?) as a possibility, based on the comments that have been made so far?
