Seriously, I think that the only people who in real life give me props are ISTps. What's up with that?

You guys are on my "A" list .

That girl that I took a drive with from Sac to LA (around ... 20 hours total) was one of the most interesting people I've ever had a conversation with.

Why the hell are you guys so rare?

Heard you guys love teaching. This true?

I haven't met many INFj's either, at least ones that are similar to me. I like the idea of teaching later in life, since I look at it as seniority priviledge. I don't look forward to teaching any time soon. I do like to share my knowdledge, especially life wisdom. It's something I value very much as my contribution to the world.

You enjoy talking about your life experiences with other people? Wisdom sharing like that?

That's my favorite type of conversation, at least, I pay a lot of attention to it. Often people ask me if they have told me so and so thing they did in their life, and I always remember what it is: "yeah, you did this and you felt that."

That's funny, because I can usually remember my OWN state, but never other people's emotional states. I've always been a big believer that other people's experiences can be some of the most important knowledge that can be shown to anyone else.

    Keep at it!
It was funny, because even though she was introverted, she seemed to be pretty sociable, like me. Are you like that too? (just curious how much of this applies to INFj's in general)

If only people are open about their feelings IRL and just tell us how they feel about us.....

It reminds me of how I used to think that no one really cares about me as much as I do about them, until I decided to voice it out to a close friend. Seems that there have been people appreciating me, just that they didn't tell me about it directly.

sorry, i am an INTj and therefore cannot be open about my feelings in real life.

That's funny, because I can usually remember my OWN state, but never other people's emotional states. I've always been a big believer that other people's experiences can be some of the most important knowledge that can be shown to anyone else.

Well, I'm not sociable if you are referring to the going to parties, drinking with friends, talking to a lot people, etc. I do think I am sociable in the kind of enjoying people's company and openly talking to them. I think people mistake me for being an extravert, since I tend to approach people and strike a conversation, especially those who I feel are being leftout. Another reason is that when I'm happy I want to share it with other people, and that's when Fi goes all over the place .

Yeah i didn't mean sociable as in drinking with friends or talking with lots of people. That stuff is fun but i'd rather be talking in small groups about whatever.

You both seem to be on the side of things.

In my experience with both of you, you give off a more level and slightly more rational essence than the intuitive subtypes, like ritella or eunice.

Let me tell you why I like INFjs:

They don't screw with my emotions. I hate that. I am not saying an EII has never manipulated me, but trying to push and prod me is very bothersome. I am speaking mostly in reference to EIE and ESE - always trying to dictate the emotional atmosphere. You don't know how much I appreciate you guys NOT doing that. I have realized this for a while, but, it came up again recently, furthering what I already know about being Fi>Fe.

It makes a world of difference, when, RC or Minde says they don't approve of something, or they just explain why I might be in the wrong, compared to...
"I was sorry to (find this out) ... especially after we had such a nice chat the last time I saw you. ..."
...compared to twisting little guilt trips in here and there, or basically addressing me as appealing or not appealing compared to whatever your "image" of me is. No telling me you love everything about me, and then moments later saying you are so disappointed, because you are trying to push or provoke me in your desired direction. No emotional flamboyance.

You guys are consistent, stable, and relaxed - and that is so very nice. Thank you for being that way.

I find this an extremely hilarious thread for some reason.
I have stopped laughing for a while just to say that when types do what you have described it does not mean they are trying to manipulate you usually. They are most likely just expressing their honest and sincere emotional reaction to whatever.

My point is, I think you can praise without making an unflattering comparison to . Objectively none of them are better or less "manipulative". I honestly do not see the "generousity of the socionics spirit" or even the need for these types of comparisons.

I'm curious if we actually aren't quite as rare as people think, and there are still some of us in hiding.

I wouldn't say I like teaching. I would probably make a better counselor than teacher, since I prefer talking with just one person rather than a group. Also, for counseling, the person comes to you wanting your advice, but that's not really the case with teaching. Most of the time students are there just because they have to be. I like it when people come to me to talk, and it doesn't even have to be about serious issues. I just like the fact that they are willing to spend time with me; being INFJ can be pretty lonely. It's an acception/rejection thing, and I have a huge problem with rejection.
