I feel bad for you guys for having to be bombarded with so much negativity about your quadra. You deserve better understanding and treatment. Just thought I would share.

<3. Thank you for that.
I kind of like it actually, I think it's productive.

cuz you can't just choose your quadra abritrarily, in fact you can't choose your quadra at all, let alone your type, people that think they can take all the individualistic propoganda they've been fed a bit too seriously. I suppose for some it's horrifying to believe that something as inherent as type is inherent at all because they've been taught that they have the power to choose everything, especially the power to choose - but this belief is largely the product of the society in which you've been indoctrinated and not an objective truth.Originally Posted by mustachio

that's all very nice but i was kidding. i'm not questioning whether i'm beta or not. but i do agree that there are some things we can't control in life. personally, i've always wanted to be like niffweed.Originally Posted by misutii

IRL too, I really appreciate those friends who honestly tell me what I am bad at.

Yeah, it's a good way to separate your real friends from all the fake-ass people out there.IRL too, I really appreciate those friends who honestly tell me what I am bad at.
But for the most part, when friends insist on giving too much advice, (because being 'helpful' does feel good and probably releases a whole bunch of I'm-better-than-you-are chemicals) I just back off. Even if they're right, I need time to adjust. Later I will apologize after I think about things for a bit, but if I'm displeased I'll just go away for awhile until I'm better. I think that is universal. If you're in a really 100% negative mood, just hide under a rock and get over it because that negativity is contagious.
I support hermit-ness. I needed to took a loooong hiatus from life until I got over my depression, but it worked. I guess for other types, that wouldn't be a wise idea.
And hehe guys, I know this is TMI but I'm saying it anyway. I just had my first real cock in like three years. GOD DAMN it felt good. God, how could anybody be homophobic? Stupid ass shitty people.

I see what you mean, and assuming the aim of the posturing is not to "look more beta" (which would require a knowledge of the quadra that I don't possess) but to "look better", there might be a tiny little bit of truth in it.Originally Posted by HollywoodWanderer
This is actually an example of what I was trying to say: now I'm trying to understand why people would think it's "posturing", why would they think real behavior will differ from what I say, why do I actually behave like that... even if I ended up believing Hollywood is mistaken, this mistake is likely to be made by others too, so the next time I behave like this, I'll be better able to spot the reaction and deal with it.

Are you ISTp? Or any delta by chance?Originally Posted by HollywoodWanderer
Betas don't exaggerate their quadra characteristics any more than any other quarda people... Deltas always try to seem moral and gammas try to seem like they are good at investing and alphas always try to seem like they are the ones that can have fun better than anyone else. It's all fine. But whatever traits betas do show, I think these are traits worth showing - emotinal compassion, respect for the direction of events, being confident in what you want to achieve, trying to make sense of the way the world works.
