Oh yes. They definitely need us.

S-types "borrow" my quite heavily once they realize how useful it can be. They frequently endow me with the default position of High Circumnavigator and Chief Provisor of Avenues of Resolution and Insight.

N's usually. The ones that I've known get either extremely depressed or too damn volatile.

I really think that depends on underlying mood -- at least for me -- alcohol pretty much augments/enhances my internal state. When I'm comfortable and happy with the person/group I'm with, I become very sensuous. Inebriation can be such a delicious feeling around people I like. Turns off the endless hamster wheel of obsessive thinking.

If uncomfortable, or mired in a rough patch of brooding/melancholy, I'm miserable.

    Psychological lopsidedness
Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.
If you're in this forum to learn something, be careful. Lots of misplaced toxicity.

~an extraverted consciousness is unable to believe in invisible forces.
~a certain mysterious power that may prove terribly fascinating to the extraverted man, for it touches his unconscious.

never really understood what S types see in N types, lol. if i had to hazard a guess i'd say the N mysticism, out of the box style, and sense of wonder about things.

what N types see in S types: reality. practicality. groundedness, sensuality.

Someone to take care of. (From my perspective)

Generally: The notion of "here is someone who needs my help" is there, if you look at it through the system of socionics. The question of this thread seems to somehow overlook the entire concept of duality.
