Default How to compliment someone on their *insert a function here*

    I'll start.

Fi: The thing I like best about you is that you really know who you are. I like that you are so well aware of your likes and dislikes, and your confidence in the level of closeness in your relationships impresses me. Your strong and well thought out moral system is also impressive. You're great at understanding not only how you feel about things and people, but also why you feel that way. I think more people should be as intensely loyal to their convictions and loved ones as you are.

Fe: What I like about you is that you're so good at being able to make people feel good, and people love you for it. You are adept at being able hold people's attention and make them like you. Being able to organise social events and the like comes naturally to you, and they always work. You're a great networker.

I always thought this was an example of a compliment to Ti:

ENFj: "i like how your ideas are so clear." Clear and distinct.

Are you complimenting on their ego-block functions, or their HA, or something else? Because if you're complimenting their ego-block functions... then those wouldn't work. You'd most likely just get a "No, duh" or "No shit" or "Umm, gee, thanks" from ego-types.

I once said to an ESFJ (yes my conflictor)

"You have a fine repertoire of facial expressions"

    She could laugh about it.

I usually make more of these Socionics jokes, without people knowing what I mean.

I could laugh about it. It's an amusing thing to say, especially if not taken in conjunction with a socionical context.

Well... that one was written sarcastically, and it was too encompassing. If someone sincerely complimented you on one of those things, you'd probably feel less , if I'm not mistaken.

yeah, i can see how each individual sentence could feel like a sincere compliment.
