    Default Duality makes life easier

Is that really what it boils down to?

I know someone made a comment like this months ago on the forum, "Find your dual or go insane". But it seems very true for me. I am realizing how.... ..... much more difficult it is to be around other people, and knowing your dual seems like it spoils you so much. I really wonder about being with any other type.

Do other people feel this way?

Joy, you found your dual on the forum? Wow!

How's life before and after duals?

No. Perhaps it would be best to say "find your dual or be disappointed or discontented," but not insane. Insane is too strong of a word.

It seems a major part of life and living, and "pursuing happiness" is finding people you can live with peacefully (or whatever adjective is most appealing to you). Duals are the best for that, IME.

Yeah, and until we actually met in person we thought we were identicals.

How's life before and after duals?
Well... I was in an extremely stressful part of my life for a few years before we met. (Contrary relations suck.) Now things are great, but I'm still not quite back to "me" yet (as evidenced by my still being here). I'm getting there though.

Yeah. I once said "find your dual or die trying" or something to that effect, but I was half joking.

I do think you can fulfill your 5th and 6th functions without being with your dual, but being with your dual is more efficient, effective, and satisfying (in my experience).

theoretically i figure ill have one in my life eventually...in some form or another. or just that one person that makes you think, "if i do have a dual, it's probably someone like this"

I don't think it's necessary to find one's dual as in another person... though that of course would hypothetically be nice. The dual I think is present inside oneself... it is the other side to someone, strong in all the functions you are weak in; weak in all the functions you are strong in. I sort of view the dual as the "recessive" part of my own personality... These thoughts may change.

(I wasn't disagreeing with you, just with the thread starter) The dual is generally necessary to "straighten things out" in one's own life, but it's not necessary for happiness. Actually...for positivists, it's not necessary for happiness, but it's necessary to straighten things out, whereas for negativists, the opposite is true.

i've been noticing that by the time dual couples get old they are totally interdependent with one another. to the point that when one of them dies, the other one follows shortly thereafter. they simply cannot live with out the other one. partners in non-dual couples can cope with the death of their partner better.

i don't think duality is an absolute must in a romantic relationship esp if you have other dual relations in your life. it is harder work with a nondual partner, but if you can identify the source of the communication problem, then the problem is at least halfway solved. like with infp man - sometimes it's Ne vs Ni way of looking at things. it hasn't been an absence of dual seeking yet though.

That which does not kill you makes you stronger.

If you survive a non-dual partner, you survive anything.

to a point...depends on which relation. if i should survive a conflict relation to death then i agree...but a semi dual or illusionary? this could be quite good also.

Whenever I read the name "Courage" for some reason I think of Courage the cowardly dog. It's a horrible association as it is unfitting and that show a very unpleasant thing that I'd prefer not to be reminded of.

    Just thought I'd share.

Trying too hard? To do what, leave some sort of impression on you? Actually its quite the opposite. I have a lot more important things to be doing than make great efforts to put on a certain image to the forum.

My seriousness is probably even more heightened than normal because I have so many things to do, and few people take things seriously as I do. A lot of alphas and Fe types seem to be commenting on this lately.

    Guess what -

you know the countdown that was in my signature for so long? Summer is long gone. I am not here to have fun.

PS: However other people have been commenting on my disregard for Fe as of late, so I suppose it is something I need to monitor.

this is an odd response. why would you say that just because a couple people complained about your attitude? you do what you want, your name is what you want it. we hafta live with it. so we will until you decide you want it to be different again.
