Yeah, the last picture is pretty messy, but that's because I had just run my hand through it. It's pretty sexy on good days, but on days that I have to wash it it gets really fluffy and I kinda have a jewfro.

Use something extremely mild like Johnson & Jonhson baby shampoo. Only when you need it though. I agree that it is not necessary to wash your hair every day. Consider mostly how your scalp feels as a main factor in washing your hair.
