    Default tests, good ones

I would like to send a friend who is interested in socionics to a test, since that would probably be the best place to start for her in particular.

Did a search, couldn't really find one.. I know that some of you have created some good tests. Could you post the links here? THanks.

Personally, I don't think tests are worth anything at all. It only spits out what you already think about yourself, and they only provide insight if you are very new or very un-self-aware. I cannot think of one I found useful or would recommend.
Pre-2013 post are written with incomplete understanding.

Ganin's turbo test is as good as any, at least for a start.

Maybe I will burst your bubble by telling you that it is an MBTI test.

There is no such thing as socionics tests. The only valid method to date is a combination of VI and interview.

I really dislike giving any friends that are interested in socionics any tests, because they put so much value into their result when I don't believe they should so quickly. I try to warn them but...no luck really. Especially my ENFj friend, because she took a MBTI test in college so...garr.

Give them things to read, is my suggestion.

If they are too lazy to read that's their own issue and they obviously are not that interested

You are still only a beginner, Ezra. What did I tell you? Both models use the same type of tests to determine your type. They only disagree on how to explain the test result and/or the behaviours and attidudes that correlate with the test result in theoretical terms. And you don't need an MBTI test to determine your type in MBTT. The exact same methods that are used by socionists can be used by MBTT practitioners to determine your correct type in MBTT -- except from V.I. which is an exclusively socionic method that is not yet accepted as valid by the MBTT community.

I think you just need to prepare people on how a test might be wrong, and have them read the type description afterwards to validate the result.

For some reason the bubble didn't burst.

If you understand socionics, you don't need someone you know to take a test.

If you don't, tests may be more confusing than helpful.

As far as tests go, though, I must say that two by Hugo weren't bad.

    - one that compared summarized descriptions of the types along with their conflictors. Then you can see not only which type is most like you, but also the one least like you, together. I think that that was very effective, the trick is getting good summarized descriptions. I may write a version at some point.

    - one of the electronic versions, including the use of temperaments to differentiate between mirrors, but before subtypes were added (which only confused things). I think that one got the right answer, or close to it, quite often.

I think you need 1)understanding of socionics and 2)understanding of the person.

I am terrible at understanding people, so I'm gonna continue using the test, with some caution, until I see it screw up.
Up to now (6 people), it's been totally right: I either had thought of the same result beforehand or it made total sense.

I think it's more about my being more Fi than Ti, and your being more Ti than Fi.

That one has been entirely off for me every time i've taken it. There was a reallllly long one on one of the sites that used to be up a long time ago...does anyone remember that one? It had about 230 questions...

    good tests don't exist.

the only test which was halfway decent was dmitri's, and i wouldn't trust that one, either.

Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a socionics test to give you an accurate result.

Read and think for yourself instead.

Don't people realise that Hugo, Blake, Sabo, Elzo...etc. are all the same person?
