If you're in this forum to learn something, be careful. Lots of misplaced toxicity.

Do you mean in the movies, or the comics?

Never mind. I think that the character is best typed as ISTj.

Wikipedia would have been a better resource than Answers.com.

I was about to ask the same question.

I'm not sure. I rarely take notice of him when I read the graphic novels.
Some logical, rational type I guess.

    My sentiments as well.

That said, I've always been really annoyed by his character. Jean too (not in the movies though).

    I agree with this message.
First eliminate every possible source of error. Thence success is inevitable.

And, I cannot link the wikipedia address because it uses parenthesis to designate "(comic)", and it won't automatically go through our web page display mechanism.

He comes off as rather generic and "typeless" to me.

Yes, but I hate all the adds and side junk that is added to what is essentially a Wikipedia resource. And I always imagined that he leaned towards being an LSE.

He carries himself like a sort of generic xSTj, but he seems Ti > Te to me.

I would think that his archetype as the "boy scout" X-Men would place him within the realm of the LSE.

I don't see him as the archetype "boy scout" though. He was very by the book, but he wasn't super duper polite and helpful to all those around him like a "boy scout" would be.

The archetype "boy scout" is Captain America, not Cyclops imo.

cracka = boy scout, not cyclops. Soooo, does that mean Cracka = Capt. America? Maybe. Sweet.

By the way - taking as frame the period up to 1993, when I all but stopped reading comics - I don't think I found any of the Marvel heroes to be role models as individuals, as to their characters.

Probably the exception, to me, is Dr. Strange, and it's perhaps significant that he was created by Steve Ditko, rather than Stan Lee, who I think is an ESFj. Perhaps that says something about Ditko's type.

I don't really like Cyclops too. I prefer Jean Gray, Wolverine and Professor X.

Didn't like the movie cyclops, and barely paid attention to the comic one. I was more interested in other characters...
