My opinion: The poor kid is a victim of boredom. Boredom is one of the worst forms of suffering. Computers, internet, and video games help to aleviate boredom. Without mental stimulation, there is only boredom. If his mom wants to curve his video game/computer addiction, then she needs to provide him with an alternate form of mental stimulation. I feel that some people don't understand how unbearable boredom truly is.

    Disclaimer: I don't understand French.

well, i don't claim to be fluent in french either, but she was pretty easy to understand dragging the kid around and going IL EST MINUIT!!!!!!!!!!! i mean, on a certain level i think i understood the mother better than her kid obviously did who seems to be displaying some shitty selective listening.

@ loki - what would you suggest his mother do?

i know a guy like this. he is pretty much so entrenched in the videogame/internet world that i wouldn't even attempt something like that mom (although i'm sure his own mother tried with him and her efforts were completely futile.)

Huh. Why can't the mom just let the boy spend like an hour playing?
Doesn't have to be the whole day.

I don't think there's anything wrong playing video games. They do require thinking, and some other benefits.
Of course, he shouldn't be spending the whole day playing video games, too much of one thing is not good IMO.

i think the problem here is that it *is* the whole day. i don't think even more than a few hours is a problem until it becomes your sole reason for living.

ILI children are extremely difficult to educate. Driss' grandmother behaves too sweetly with him and his mother has a more passive-aggressive style.

I attend a Catholic milieu. Even in well-educating backgrounds, ILI keep their autistic cognitive properties, and will behave very distantly with people (I know especially two ILI girls...)

Simon Cowell, ISFj, and Conan O'Brien, ENTj. I think they're both balanced subtypes.

I agree. That's a good example of Gamma interaction. They pursue one single subject for a long time rather than shift from one to another.

i can't find any good quality video, but I think this woman who has a reality show on VH1 - Tiffany Pollard (aka "New York") is so ESFp. I actually find her charming. But I know we are conflictors.

here's some of the only good quality videos I could find on yotube with the amount of time I am willing to spend hehe. First one is more artificial but more neutral, bottom one shows interactions with another in a competitive situation, which might be better. "Why WOULDN'T i want to [fight/compete] with you". Se.

i gotta tell you some of the cadences and mannerisms are deja vu

well, its just an opposite thought process of alpha. you can lable it autistic if you'd like. I used to think I might of had aspergers syndrome, until I learned about socionics and the functions. It seems like you have a need to rationalize the inferiority of the ILI thought process in your mind, as a way of defending your ego against anything which may disturb its integrity which is based around thoughts pertaining to your supreme intelligence. This is a mental disorder that you have. Its a latent mental disorder, its a rational mental disorder. Go have fun with it
The ideal state of mind is a state of balance. It is a place where ILI and LII merge together

why? because Jung and some guy who thought yin-yangs looked cool said so?
no, ......... why would that be the reason why?
    ?
Oh god, I think I need to mentally shit and vomite.
    Let me tell you why.
A thought which is correct from more perspectives, the more omnipotent thought, is the more true thought. You will agree with me on that correct?
If I make a generalization about something, like all black people are theives... the extent to which this generalization is consistently true, is a measure of its validity as a statement, its level of correctedness.
    .....
So the thoughts which can be arrived at from multiple perspectives, the "places where ILI and LII converge", are the thoughts which are most meaningful, most important, most true etc. The thoughts which are correct under a wider variety of circumstances.

sometimes you might learn more from a narrow perspective. what if the price to pay for a new perspective is too high?

an "ideal state" is a desirable state. i can think of lots of things people desire that have nothing to do with knowledge.
    .
    K. As you said, an ideal state is relative to a perspective. It is the balancing of the requirements of all the elements of a particular perspective. You agree with me on that, right? So there is an array of perspectives, there is also an array of ideal states. But there is also an ideal perspective, which is the most omniscient perspective, and I discussed this in what I just said to you.. and from this there is.. well using the terms you're trying to stick to, an ideal ideal state. So this ideal state of the ideal perspective, or the omniscient perspective, is what I was talking about. I think the ideal ideal state, is more ideal then a simply ideal state, or a non-ideal ideal state. So when I said "the ideal state", using the word ideal as a blanket term, you should of interpreted that as ideal in every sense of the word, I think that makes the most sense...
Now as you said there are things people desire that have nothing to do with knowledge. This is true, but all this proves is 1: the ideal ideal state may not be limited to knowledge, which I don't think it is 2: that non-ideal, or non-omniscient, limited perspectives create their own set of desires or requirements for a return to balance or a non-ideal ideal state, and these are the desires you are thinking of and refering to, but these desires are only relevent to a limited perspective.. on top of this, I think it can be argued it is the goal of every person to achieve the ideal perspective over the limited perspective.
I do not think it is possible to learn more, from maintaining a limited perspective. learning implies the widening perspective I think by definition. You are only confused about what exactly constitutes a limited perspective, or a more omniscient perspective.

Yes. People are more at ease with low-IQ people. Therefore low-IQ people are more sociable.

SEE like ILI because ILI have, on average, the highest IQ.

Socionics states that a relationship is build upon the functions one uses and not the IQ that one has. I've never been irritated by the lower IQ of SEE.

And even if they have a low IQ this doesn't mean they can be smart when it comes to working with people.

But it's indeed true that if you want a mental challenge, you will need to be in the company of you identical or mirror. They use the same Ego functions which are better developed at some points then your own.

I interrupt this topic to bring you a most important announcement:

Machintruc very likely has a normal IQ.

Whenever I hear people garbling on about IQ scores this is most often the case.

In fact I've known a few people that were like this, one very proudly announced that he was off to get an IQ test. A few months later when I inquired as to the results he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. My suspicion is that the results were not quite what he suspected.

I had an IQ test whilst staying in a barrel of monkeys, the results were amusing to me and seemed to highly annoy my shrink.

Basically, it's something like this :

Let's consider the Gulenko's groups of communicability :

EF - low IQ, high EQ
IT - high IQ, low EQ
ET and IF - average on both.

This explains why SEE tend to have low IQ, and why women have, on average, lower IQ than men - because women lack IT and men lack EF.

Recently, my mom (EIE) has passed an IQ test on my computer (from Eysenck), and her results were something like "not enough correct answers to evaluate an IQ". This supposes that she has less than 80. That doesn't mean EF types are retarded. They just have, on average, a lower IQ.

You know, the consensus is that IQ is 50% genetic 50% environment.
