    Default Type My Music

A selection of my favourite music (If the video doesn't look right with the music video, it probably isn't the music video):

Brilliant beats with a nice hard edge:

Probably one of the best tunes of all time:

Probably one of the best dance tracks of all time:

    Some of the sexiest shit:

From one of the best compilations of all time:

    My favourite DJ Shadow song:

One of the best Massive Attack tunes ever:

I think a lot of it is characterised by the IP temperament, some of it more EPish.

Interesting music choices. I can see an ILI enjoying this type of music - I actually know one who does. It seems Gamma, I agree with Starfall. I hear a lot of continuous, droning style beats, I like that and relate to it, but the problem with all the songs for me is not enough on the / axis of things - it seems a little lackluster with the passionate expression of emotions, either good or bad. Beta music is typically very in your face, not as "robotic" (that's the word I use to describe this type of music actually) if you haven't noticed. Beta is more along the lines of over-wrought epic-ness .. this is not something I see Beta people enjoying. It's too chill, but also not in the Alpha style. There seems to be little "fun" in it as I would equate with and ... no at all, it's not playful or random. It just screams ... robotic. Sorry if that sounds offensive, I don't mean it to be, but that's my general take on it.

You give more weight to your opinions then they deserve.

No, not at all. It's been described as many things in the past. "Boring electro" and "Indian trance shit" are just two of them. I'm quite averse to music with passion though. To me, it's pretentious.

I see where you're coming from. But it simply shows difference of opinion. I have passion for my unimpassioned music. It's not paradoxical at all. What I find pleasureable about it is the soundscapes it creates, and the immensely good feeling it gives me, that something like The Arctic Monkeys, The Beatles or Trivium would not be able to give me.

Eh, you don't get it. It's annoy to hear people claim a song, "The best of all time" or whatever. Music doesn't work that way. How good or bad a song is depends on a lot of things, even time.

It may be annoying to you, but you cannot claim that 'music doesn't work that way'. That is exactly the way in which music works - its quality is judged by the listener alone. There is no objectively defined rating scale on which to base how good or bad a piece of music is.

    Exactly.

Which is why when people say things like you did, it's annoying.

Why? Am I not allowed to express my opinion?

You show a vast appreciation for current, popular music. Not much into old musics, are you?
Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.
If you're in this forum to learn something, be careful. Lots of misplaced toxicity.

~an extraverted consciousness is unable to believe in invisible forces.
~a certain mysterious power that may prove terribly fascinating to the extraverted man, for it touches his unconscious.

I agree that most of it is current, but I disagree that it is popular. In fact, when I encounter those with similar music tastes to my own, I am overjoyed as they are so few.

As for 'old' music, I enjoy classical music, prog rock (i.e. Pink Floyd and early Genesis), '80s rock (U2), '60s rock (Hendrix), jazz (Miles Davis, Clifford Brown, Freddie Hubbard), reggae (Marley, Burning Spear), early electronic (Kraftwerk) and '80s dream pop (Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance).

I have a tendency towards that. Don't take it to heart.
