    Default SLEs/ESTps: are you narcissistic?

So you mean he doesn't know that he possesses those qualities, thus lying about it to increase self-image?

Most narcissists suffer from inferiority complex of some sort. Basically if you have an insecure ESTp, theoretically they would lean towards narcissism rather than depression, both stemming from inferiority complex. INFp's theoretically tend to swing towards depression rather than narcissism, though some can become histrionic.

    Oh well.
    She is wise
    beyond words
    beautiful within
    her soul
    brighter than
    the sun
    lovelier than
    love
    dreams larger
    than life
    and does not
    understand the
    meaning of no.
    Because everything

I'm borderline arrogant, but not narcissistic.

I really relate to how this INFj sees them:

"And to A.14-yes, I felt that my ESTp bf could have lied on the [personality] test [about being an ESTp]. However, he does possess all the qualities of his type. I feel that he is on the pathological side of the ESTp-already predisposed to narcissism because of the self confidence of ESTp. He more than likely presents a false self, but I feel that when I'm around most self confident people. They always seem to be hiding something...some hurt, some pain, something-I can often "feel" it being an empath..Many of them don't seem "real" to me in their presentation to the world. -- a"

Can you imagine a person who is so narcissistic that he would seem to lie about qualities he actually does have? ^_^
Lying can put some people off balance.

Maybe its kind of like a fighter before he gets in the ring. Yes, he actually does have strength and skill, but he pumps himself up so much in the trash talk that he virtually lies about himself, although those qualities actually do exist in him. Do any of you guys watch UFC?
There's nothing wrong with a little delusion.

The decision to lie (embellish, justify, etc) seems directly related to a 'rejection projection'. Truths that would elicit narcissistic supply are shared openly. Truths that would decrease narcissistic supply are altered/avoided.

Could these positive traits be excessively amplified in order to cast a shadow over the negative? Like dimming the lights on a messy corner so that no one really notices it much - including the narcissist?

    Religiously .
