    hm yeah i guess

    haha looks kinda scary there

i was listening to an interview on NPR with him and he seems very uh methody-actorish in the willingness to mold to his character.

was thinking about if that translated to some function.

Wasn't he in that film "The Machinist" ? That character kind of ruined him for me.

An excellent actor! Amazing guy. Loved him in "Equilibrium". His ability to mold into the character is similar to the same ability in Kevin Spacey (whom I also respect a lot). Nevertheless, I wouldn't believe that they are the same type. Too different.

His type would be interesting to know.

    It's really hard to tell...

By the bone structure looks more I than S to me. And the facal expression says, than he might be rather a feeler.

My first thoughts, when I first saw him on TV, were - ESFP or ENFP.

I would say he could be a xNFx type.

same here. i know ENTp is the dominant idea about him here but to me he comes off as . i keep thinking like, ESFp ethical ENFp ethical. i have no idea, really, except he just doesn't seem like a logical type.

OMG. Seems he reshapes his entire body for every role he gets! look at the pics in google... From a heavily built muscle guy to a skeleton.

    From (2000, American Psycho)

    to (2002, Equilibrium)

    to (2004, Machinist)

    to (2005, Batman Begins)

interview where he says how and why he lost 64lbs for a movie!

I think he looks NF (intuitive at the very least) and from that interview he doesn't sound at all like an EP. He seems to have this attitude: see the goal and just keep moving towards it persistently! I think he could very well be ENFj.

Well, he just has a very ENTp facial structure, at least that's what I consider it ENTp in my book, since all the people I've known that have it are always haging around with ISFps. I can see the case for ENFj, yes, though, it was my second choice.

Method Acting = Ne + Fe at its finest.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

My mom studied and taught method acting and was ENTj. I'm sure there are method actors of all types.

I don't get an ENFp vibe off him at all.

He reminds me of some politician or something but I can't think of specifically who.

He is totally ENFj. I saw it within 5 seconds and the clip just showed it again and again.

    * he keeps "drawing" images with his hands because he can't really find the words to explain things with the effect they happen in his head.
    * analogy, "It's like with a magic trick, a good one... you know what you'll see, but you're still amazed when you see it."
    * Stressing some words to give his words more effect. Like with "amazed". He's stressing at least one word every sentence.
    * notice how he fidgets whenever he isn't doing something with his hands.
    * He shows proactive body language. He's just sitting there, true, but he isn't really molding into the chair, he seems to be almost getting up every time he says something significant.
    * Everything he says sounds significant. This tone of voice should be used to talk about the truth of man kind (or something like that).
    * He goes over the scripts to eliminate any and all logical inconsistencies. Yeah, I like too.
    * My sister thinks he barely moved at all and constantly tried to look very comfortable. PoLR?
    * Notice the eyebrow movement. "I'm cool and collected" - constantly giving a certain impression. And notice the raised eyebrow trick, usually associated with the rich and the famous aristocrats, car salesman, arrogant pricks and other such things.

Oh - except that he doesn't strike me as Delta, personally, but I don't have anything concrete behind that.

Rather impossible to retype those people, because otherwise there would remain no ENTps in this world. However, your objection is counted. Please also refer though to the ENTp-subtype thread, and notice the similarity of his facial and body structure with other ENTps.

I actually could see how many of the points you mention strenghten my ENTp opinion. For example, I think that it is very very ENTp to check the script for logical incosistencies. I'd say that a Ti-dual seeker might be more welcoming of it as help from an outside perispective, but would he/she do it him/herself?

dual seeking will find it very difficult to ignore those if he happens to find any.

    * Notice how he has the aura that says, "you thought you were going to relax and just have a good time? No. There's no relaxing in a conversation because conversations are important!". Kinda the high-strung EFxj + Se hidden agenda kind of feel to it that forces everyone to have the best time!

Lol. "forces everyone to have the best time" is a funny expression It reminds of military actually. There was this concept called "forced laughing". When officer told a joke you were not allowed to laugh before given permission. And after you were ordered to laugh you were not allowed to stop laughing before given the permission.

I don't notice anything like this, just his facial structure, sorry! I guess this is just difference in our base functions that make us concentrate on different things. But still, I can conceive him being ENFj.

Whatever type he is there is a very good chance we are identicals. We checked the pics and watched the video and my wife sees a LOT of similarity in us. Especially body language (facial expressions, hands) and the way he talks and uses his voice. The still pics show similarities too. So whatever type he ends up being might just be me Is this the needed swing vote for ENFj in my case? I really loved Batman Begins btw

    Default Christian Bale

I've gathered some pictures, interesting quotes, and an interview of his to help those of you fluent in socionics-psycho babble better pin down his personality type.

So what do you think Mr. Bale's type is?

    Pictures

    Quotes

"At first, I was somewhat hesitant to do the role. I mean, after all, Batman is an icon. But I remember, as clear as day, being at the grocery store the day the movie opened, and this little boy saw me. He couldn't have been more than five years old. He just walked right up to me and hugged me. He hugged me, and I was so moved by it that I hugged him back. Then he looked up at me and said "You're my hero." And in that moment, I knew that not only as an actor that I had done my job, but that I had made the right decision to play Batman. And I've never looked back on my the decision to play Batman since."- On his decision to play Batman

"I'm the last person to have any kind of posse. I've always been a loner - I can't stand having people around me too much. I don't have an assistant ever because I know I would end up just throwing them out of the room. I like my private time and I am not incapable. I can still do things for myself. A lot of people seem to think that as soon as they start earning above a certain pay check they become incapable. I can still wipe my own arse."

“I think a lot of actors can talk a lot of crap about how difficult it is. Acting is simple. It’s using your imagination. If you have any interest in other people whatsoever, acting is very easy.”

"You can't help but find that violence is endlessly fascinating-and I mean true violence, not action-movie violence, just because it is used as the answer to so many problems. We're all taught as kids not to be violent, but you can't help but also see that violence is what works very often. Bullies thrive."

"I don't want to know about the lives of other actors and I don't want people to know too much about me. If we don't know about the private lives of other actors, that leaves us as clean slates when it comes to playing characters. That's the point, they can create these other characters and I can believe them. I think if you're a good enough actor, that's the way to longevity in the film business. Keep everybody guessing."

he is standoffish. he also seems sort of...dumb. anyhow, not type related. i don't think enfj. maybe estp or something. he definitely wishes to be percieved as masculine, whether that is a reality or not is the question. it's a condition i've noticed in several people. most notably ezra-- the giant pussy who endlessly waxes his internet toughguy muscles in our faces. just kidding. about the condition, not ezra.
