IEI
This thread reminds that IEI's really aren't so uncommon.

Just because I'm a thinking type doesn't mean I'm not an idiot.
i seem to run up on a lot of them, honestly?Originally Posted by ScarlettLux

Wouldn't doubt it.
Irony: it's the least commonly given MBTI type.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...

i believe this guy was MBTI INTP, actually. i had asked him about the profiles and he first thought INTp fit him best, then INFp, then decided on ENFj (he does seem EJ in the sense that he never stops going - hard worker - but i think he's IP as hell.)
edit - this guy has been a surprisingly close friend of mine since highschool and we dated for a while.
i get along quite well with these types. i mean, he's a little whiny! but he's a very good reliable friend.
i think i've become better @ figuring out which are ISFps and which are INFps -- the ISFp i know clams up and get all weird around me and it's just oddly tense (they act around me like joy has described some INFps acting around her - like they're scared or something - i think the first ISFp i met [my brother's wife] was greeted very poorly by me heh.) - the INFps are generally not that way.

Why should there be a "most common type?" It makes more sense to assume that types exist in complementary (i.e., roughly equal) distribution.

I don't think it does. It makes more sense for functions which are more necessary for survival and human relations (Si and Fe) to be more prevalent. Put another way, we will always need more people who grow/harvest/distribute/prepare/serve food than people who write poetry. (That is not to downplay the significance of either, mind you. And that is also not to say that all INFps are capable of is writing poetry and that other types can't. But you catch my drift.)Originally Posted by JRiddy

I don't think INFps are uncommon... just easier to overlook, IME.

Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love."

for some reason hearing you say that ISFp's are necissary for survival makes me giggle (despite being one )
Of course. You prevent the crackpot ENTps and INTjs from destroying civilization as we know it with their Ne/Ti.
ENTp: This solar system blows. We need to build a rocket that will propel eearth into the next galaxy.
ISFp: Here, have a sandwich.

it's easy... you just distract them from tinkering with their new A-bombs with offers of sex and tasty food then hope they'll spill their drink all over their calculations when they aren't paying attentionOriginally Posted by Baby
