Default Leslie Feist (the 1234 girl)

This song is really infectious and I've kind of got the hots for Leslie bouncing around in sparkly blue spandex :

    What type?

    Gut reaction: Fe creative.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I can definitely see the Fe. ISFp maybe?

    And yes. She's hot.

I figured out who she reminds me of. Liz Phair:

... only slightly more earthy. I like Feist better, though.

    David Byrne is my hero.

yeah, he's an amazing artist. I think he really expands upon the definition of an artist. He's not very dramatic(in a lot of his music videos--when image is all important-- he sings without a single expression on his face) but is focused, intense, intelligent, and idiosyncratic. Much more interesting than a peope who feel lots of emotions that are easily expressed in song.

Ever watch the Stop Making Sense DVD? Probably the best recording of a live performance of any kind of modern music in existence.

She's very Fe and very loose, seems irrational.

Not appealing to me much as a logical LSE.

So an Fe creative seems entirely possible.

From that video, I could see INFp, yeah. She seems really down-to-earth and yet what she's saying is sort of spacey, lol.

You are aware that it would be much easier to take you as LSE seriously if only you didn't insist on tagging so many of your posts with "me as an LSE" and hadn't chosen "Courage" as your screenname? As it stands, you've essentially become a caricature of yourself.

    Yeah, I know

Sneg went all out about that in Delta.

Does it really bother you guys that much? Would it feel better if I just didn't put in those 3 letters? I really don't get what the big deal is here.
I don't care if you "accept me" as an LSE or not - it has been relentlessly proven by everything everyone has thrown at me.

You don't even know why I changed my username - you're just assuming I'm just doing it as a put on for you all, apparently?
Simple prejudice on your part. You don't know what the meaning of it to me is.

But then again I suppose it is nothing new for (some) to be so concerned about "image".
Well, let me put it this way: what is it you gain by stating your type at every chance you get? Most of us are already quite aware that you identify with LSE in the context of Socionics. No need to constantly remind anyone, and certainly no necessity to remind yourself.

I have no opinion on or interest in what type you are. For all I know or care you could be anything from IEI to LSE. I don't know you personally, and we have rarely ever exchanged anything more than a passing comment here on the forum. I have no personal qualms against your claiming LSE as your type. But it is a case of protesting a bit too much to not warrant some measure of doubt to anyone who happens to glance at your posts on a casual basis. It is like when people think you are insane: the more you protest otherwise, the more likely it is that you are. It becomes a travesty - a sad burlesque caricature.

This isn't personal malice on my part - I cannot stand it when anyone of any type constantly makes mention of their type. The root of the problem is that: your type is not you as a person. It is both misguided and unhealthy to identify with a theoretic model of the psyche to such an extent that one insists upon touting their label to the neglect of their identity as an individual. You are not put off by Leslie Feist because you are an LSE - you are put off because that is your personal preference in women. You do not speak on behalf of all LSEs. I know many LSEs who are attracted to Fe-dominant, irrational women (more common with SEI than IEI, admittedly). It is a peculiarity of your individual identity that is speaking when you say: "Not appealing to me much" - NOT "as a logical LSE" but "as Courage/UDP."

As for your username, I apologize. No, I have no idea what that word means to you personally, or why you chose it. The critic Martin Amis famously refered to all writing as "the struggle against cliche." The most basic cliches that we have in our language are names - names for objects and emotions. "Courage" (and similar all-encompassing words, like "love" or "despair") is a cognitive-linguistic cliche, and as such will constantly invoke preconcieved biases/notions no matter whom you are talking to. So, you are essentially correct in that I can only react to that word as the cliche that it is, and not with the personal connotations it has for you.

Anyway, I hope this didn't come across as a personal attack or a rant. These are merely my casual observations from one health food-enthusiast to another.
