    Default VI My Mother

Please VI my mother, whom I have only met once for about 30 seconds. I tracked her down, and introduced myself. Her response was to ask me to step outside of her front door upon which she subsequently shut it.

I think she is SLI and her avoidance was Fe PoLR. I do not have any more information about her; she never bothered to call or write when I was younger. She and my father divorced when I was a few years old. My father is in the last photo, and he types as ILE.

that is what i was getting at. if there is an inescapable appropriation that is required in the act of understanding, this brings into question the validity of socionics in describing what is real, and hence stubborn contradictions that continue to plague me.

That is a sad story and I feel some compulsive need to give you a hug.

She doesn't look SLI to me. Maybe an Fi type? I'm not into the whole VI thing but particularly in the first photo she looks like she could almost be INFj or something. She looks very very very young. And you were an adorable baby.

She probably felt guilty about not raising you and that's why she shut the door on you - it was probably too hard to deal with. But that isn't your fault and you shouldn't have had to go through that. Were you raised by your father?

She probably did have many emotions, and from my limited knowledge of socionics, LSI would seem the most likely candidate for dealing with emotions by avoidance. At least I can say that she is probably not IEE!

I was raised by my father; and step mother from the age of 6.

Oooh I misread - I thought you said SLI. You know she looks a LOT like an LSI I used to work with, so I certainly couldn't say no to that. But I am a) not good at VI and b) don't give it too much credence to VI anyway.

I mistyped. (No pun intended). SLI was what I said.

The type that comes to my mind spontaneously from her pictures is ISFp.

I think a Se quadra type is unlikely, so Alpha or Delta. Ethical > Logical, and IP seems most likely than the others.

Her reaction of shutting the door would be typical of ISFp simply reacting at gut level to get rid of the source of negative emotions.

She looks very ISFp to me.

Parents abandon their children when they do not feel they are capable of being good parents. Her behavior is not indicative of type. Her refusal to face you is also not entirely indicative of type. This isn't a normal situation and she's not a typical representation of whatever type she is.

I would vote for LSI before SLI or SEI,

ISFp or INFp...... both are definitely possible.

First two pictures look ISFp, but the fourth picture looks a lot like an ISTj that I know.

    I thought SEI immediately.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Looks IXFp on the first 2 pictures, ISFj on the third and ISTj on the fourth, imo.
