Supervision: difficult to spot if supervisee is above the supervisor?

In my first attempts at typing people, at which I seem to suck (ISTj thing or just inexperience?), I am having trouble with one, who seems not to match the supervision relationship.

Do you think the relation could be particularly hard to identify if the two meet in a situation that clearly puts the supervisee in a position of higher rank and power? Or maybe if they usually meet for an activity at which the supervisee is clearly more skilled?

supervision can be typed by the use of their common function. That's what makes you sort of friends.

It doesn't matter if the supervisee is in a higher position. I've got two at my work who are higher then me.

If you are just starting with typing people, everything seems hard. But you'll get experienced quickly.

It's hard to type people for a while. A long while even. You can put descriptions of them up in "what's my type" if you want.

I think it's a good idea to start with quadra values and then narrow it down to a type by temperament and (even more so) by which of their quadra values they need and appreciate most in a relationship and which they are able to automatically provide in a relationship.

I'd say get the general picture first, and use Quadra values to differentiate if necessary. If I had to choose by Quadra values alone, I would probably be Beta. Which I'm not.

When I say quadra values, I'm invariably referring to information elements. If I say "quadra behavior" or "quadra attitudes" or "quadra stereotypes" or something of the like, that's different.
