The ESTp sees it as his locomotive; but the others are welcome as hangers-on as long as they are fun to be around and know who's boss. The ENFj and the ISTj may or not agree with this, they may be waiting for their own chance to either kick the ESTp out or until he eventually falls off while drunk. The INFp will not see himself as the boss but will be glad to be part of the gang of the most powerful locomotive.

ahahahahah. that is awesome. I'm going to post a long list of beta examples and functional ties when i have time. I've recently been hanging around one such beta gang, and it's been interesting.
Here is one funny example:
Wild crazy girl(INFp) is outside yelling. Wild Leader(ESTp) goes out to accost her. Says, "Hey, girl, want a drink?" Girl says, "yeah i'd love a drink." Leader proceeds to toss the whiskey onto the girl. She starts fighting back with fists and there is a genuine fight. Later they are both laughing incredibly loudly and enjoying eachother with an aire of underlining violence. INFp later says, "You know at first i was pissed the leader threw the drink on me, but it really energized me. now i'm thankful he threw the drink on me."
The ESTp guy definitely has a fighting spirit. Whenever he does anything all of his friends just tell he he is a worthless and can't do anything. it only fuels his fire.

Positive stereotypes are boring and suck so I do negatives.
It is easy to understand Betas (and possibly other types too) if you model them as robots.
INFp: The kind of robot that lacks the "resistance unit". Like they say "You should not use that door!". Then you say "Oh come on! It is perfectly ok if I use this door? Just this time? Right?" then they go "Well...but...ok...I guess it is fine". (no sexual connotations intended). Pretty much the only units installed are "daydream unit" and "bendover unit".
ENFj: The kind of robot that has a "success unit" installed. This makes them try to achieve success at all costs. But their only installed supporting unit is the "ass kissing unit". The higher level the ass the more determined they become in kissing it.
ESTp: They are really cold-blooded robots (like ENTjs) but instead of the ENTj "strategic planning unit" they have "sales unit", "fake smile unit", "beer drinking unit" and "rape unit" installed.
ISTj: A bit like ESTps but hey don't have the "fake smile unit" or "sales unit" installed but instead the "ineffective systems unit" which makes them want to impose ineffective systems on others. The more ineffective the system the more determined they become in imposing it.

i think it's my lack of understanding of social roles. When i'm in a group of people I don't think about who is 'the funny guy,' 'the clever guy,' or any of that. I really don't think about myself or other's personality in an intuitive context. I listen to their words carefully, but have no graps on who a person 'is,' like so many others(and i know there are people who are really in tune with this and it fascinates me). This leads me to be confused about myself. I'm not a very introspective person, either. I discovered last night that i have few doubts anymore. I've been bike training hard for about a month, and i never even thought, 'why do i do this? is this what i really want?' There hasn;'t been a single doubt in my mind that biking was what i wanted, and that i'm going to devote a large portion of my time to the sport regardless of friends or other leisure activities. I am like this with most things I do and it does not lend me much time to think about who I am, unfortunately. It creates a problem, in fact, because i sometimes readily believe what others tell me about myself-- but I am not taken aback by their thoughts because it inspires a 'hmmph,' more than further thought. My actions can be harsh-- i sacrifice a lot of social time to pursue my personal interests, and i don't even think about it. I think this makes me seem ISTp, but that could be wrong.
