Default 3rd and 7th functions in duality

I think that our role function is something that we're more concerned with than our dual is. When we bring up role concerns they'll tell us that we're worried about something that doesn't matter.

The 7th function is described as something we use arrogantly or aggressively, but I don't think that's the way we typically treat our dual... at least not one we're on favorable terms with... it would be used more in defense of them when they're being criticized in areas related to their role. If someone's giving them a hard time, we'd use our 7th function to talk down to or about the person criticizing or making demands of our dual.

That might work if we were supposed to pwn our Benefactors for our duals. Unfortunately, they AND their dual both pwn us and our dual, and there's really no way around it
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Isn't supervision more of a PoLR thing? And benefit a dual seeking thing?

That's a pretty limited perspective on any intertype relation, although that interaction does determine who holds power in the relationship. The fact of the matter is that the Benefactor has the upper hand in the relationship, as does the Supervisor; if our 7th function secretly came into play when our Benefactor harassed out Dual, the Benefactor wouldn't have the upper hand any more, which, as we know, is not the case.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...
