    Default ISTjs and asking questions

Do you notice ISTjs asking numerous questions about things? This is mostly about me, because, having returned from college, and especially lately (which seems to be paralleling the time that other ISTj qualities seem to be emerging from me), a close friend of mine has been complaining about something:

the rate of me asking questions has increased dramatically. I thought he was being strange or just being irritable at first, but there actually may be a legitimate change in my behavior. Apparently I am asking more questions, although I have not been conscious of it.

In my mind, I am asking questions for more information. I could be doing them excessively fast, but to me they are all related. It is like I am examining the subjects structure, and as I go through it, I pry out questions that I am not sure of. I imagine, personally, that I just have to learn how to deal with it so that it is not a problem.

But I was wondering if you have seen similar things from an LSI, or if it is at all related? It strikes me because I know an LSI who is very aggressive in questioning, but I am not sure if I am the same way.

My ENFp sister acuses me of doing this all the time. My questioning isn't usually aggressive though. I guess it's just and she obviously has no idea what I'm doing.

ISTJ: Why do you need to learn how to drive a car now?
ESFJ: Cause, blah blah blah blah blah blah for one minute
Me , ISTP: Why don't you drive around the block to show what you've learned. If you suck, then get a professional.
ESFJ: Why that's stupid? Why am I talking to you, you're not dad.
ISTJ: I don't think it's a good idea. I don't want you to drive a car with your friend, You shouldn't be driving a car.
ESFJ: Blah blah blah blah blah
ISTJ: I already told you, NO, I will get a professional to do it, but you should not rush to get your license.
    ESFJ: Starts being more dramatic
ISTJ: You have to listen to me, You're wrong I'm right. I know how it's like. Do what I say.

Then it goes downhill spiraling that the ESFJ crying and ISTJ starts moaning that she should get out of the house.

That sounds just like my ESFj sister/ISTj mom.

Hahah... The ESFj sounds EXACTLY like one ESFj that I know, except that in stead of 1 minute, it's usually 5-20 min!!! And I do think that the last thing that the ISTj says has been seriously rephrased.

Asking too many questions can be a good or inherently annoying skill.

I know that when I was a kid I asked questions all the time, literally.
I think I still ask many questions, but now I really don't want to be intrusive so I try to observe or make people give me the answer without asking the question, through some "flanking" observations.

yeah.. i think ixtj ask a lot of questions, but about different things. Something that makes sense theoretically, and that i have seen in practice.

different kinds of questions, though. For example I notice that my istj friend will ask me a whole bunch of questions about physical details, like where exactly the restaurant was, or something, which will annoy me. I will ask her many questions about implications or things that just seem off; she will become visibly annoyed as well or simply not answer. I notice that she hates being asked to qualify artistic value, she will not discuss this with me ever.

Same here, I remember the questioning was driving my parents crazy.
