    Default Delta Comedy and Humor

An INFj friend finds this comedy sketch funny:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzebYwZxzkQ

I don't get it at all. How is it funny???? It's not witty or intelligent, its just a guy dancing around and then saying that's why I don't like cricket. The two subjects are completely unrelated - it's totally unreal. Perhaps a Delta member could shed some light on how it's funny?

Hehe you seem to be interested in deltas. Thats cool i respect that

I agree with you that its not witty or intelligent. Its obviously just stupid humour. I didn't find it laugh out loud funny i just found it humorous. Was just the way that he was dancing and wasn't self conscious at all. Letting out his silly side. His dancing style was so unfashionable.

I dunno. I couldn't even concentrate watching the clip. It doesn't make any sense.

That is SO random you posted that bananas for hands video. I've always thought it was hillarious! I rememer when I found that, I watched it like 5 times. I just can't get enought of it. It's probably dirty if you overthink it, so I try to not think about the meaning.

Haha yeah it used to be a bit of a joke between my group of friends. I like the part where he goes "5 fingers, oont some hair". My ENTj friend said "oont some hair" about 20 times a day after that.

It's even funnier to imagine an ENTJ finding that funny/saying "oont some hair." The ENTJs I know are very serious and don't usually admit to finding things like that funny.

I also like when they're afraid of the monkeys and the monkeys are doing that snapping thing like in A Westside Story. "we are da monkeys (snap, snap)"

Yeah i dont know, i do suspect hes a little different to most ENTj's lol. The few ive met do seem to have a good sense of humour though.

This guy seems to have a strange humour sometimes similar to mine. He seems to love it when people make mistakes with things they say etc. He used to sit on my computer and just say random things. Then when i did it he would pick a part of what i said and repeat it like 100 times. "and" "and" and" and" "dog". He found it hillarious. One night he had us all say something like "Smelly Arse" then he rewound it to see what it sounded like. And its like Sayalems or something. Then he was asking people to say Sayalems. Finally he reversed again and cut them all together to make a reverse smellyarse remix.

That made no sense what so ever....and it wasn't humorus at all....and I find stupid stuff funny! I also noticed that the guy watching made the same eye movment every time the camera showed his face...it was like watching an anime that loves to repeat the same set of animated graphics over and over again....

My guess is he's ENFp, but not sure.
I think this is a pretty insightful interview, if anyones got any thoughts.

I didn't laugh, not even once. And it's boring to see the same joke over and over again.

    Agree on the Monty too.

Though my question is: How is the original video delta humor? What are we talking about when we say that? I mean it's not just that I don't find that particular thing funny, but I've been fervently searching for some kind of underlying premise or whatever springs from the delta fountain that I'd even remotely be entertained by. Is it because of the guy personally? Is it just messing with total strangers in a public place? If it happened in my vicinity I'd probably smile to myself because it's clearly a gag, but my response to it is pretty overwhelmingly meh. Not saying those of you who enjoyed it have a shit sense of humor or it's objectively unfunny, but it doesn't really do anything for me at all.

My thought was that the humor was based on social propriety, so it might resonate with deltas more than other quadras. If it actually happened to me, I wouldn't find it funny in the least. but the fact that in the video it goes on and on and in different locations and the way the guy is yelling, does make me snicker.

hmmm. i didn't think the OP was AHAHAHAHAHAHA funny. I found it more amusing/entertaining. Sort of like less funny than "The Office," but along the same lines.
LOL funny is more like when there's an element of complete randomness to it and/or the joke involves making some type of underlying psychological connection. Often these are jokes about completely inane or absurd topics like pigeons or using the toilet. Most people's reaction to me is literally like "for someone who I thought was smart, you laugh at the DUMBEST shit." And I'm just like "ahahahah. It's brilliant."
Also, there's usually a lot of physical/visual humor.
I'm trying to think of stuff that made me fall of my chair laughing, but I'm drawing a blank...

If you haven't already, you should watch the Blackadder series. You'll never be stuck for a laugh again.

Alternatively come out with my ESFp friend and I to the pub. He's so funny that even comedians don't make him laugh-basically because he is funnier than them.
