I saw an old Star Trek episode yesterday, now I was wondering...which type is he?

I don't think he's a very good fictional character for typing. Overall probably the type that fits him best is ENFj.

If you type Spock as ISTj and McCoy as ISFj, their relationships even make some sense.

Kirk's type literally changes between episodes. There were many writers on the show who didn't collaborate very much, thus the inconsistency.

ISTJ hmmm, i'm going to have to look some more episodes. He's indeed very serious.

Definitely IJ....... I'd go INTj. Don't see much Se in him.

but because of his lack of emotions and his talk about logic, somehow it reminded me of them.

Captain Kirk is an Se leading individual who also happens to have strong Ni and strong Ne, who is definitely an ethical type, yet who values Fe>Fi: Beta SF.

William Shatner is SLE. I think that's clear if you even browse through any of his memoirs.

I still don't think any single type fits Kirk if you take into account all the episodes, movies, etc.

I really liked that show when I was little. I liked the cat woman episodes. I wanted batman and cat woman to get together, because I didn't think cat woman was really that bad, she just needed someone to convince her she wasn't. I thought batman should have put forth more effort to that end, because I thought it would work.

I haven't bought them, nor do I intend to. But he writes things like -- "my marriage failed. I had no idea of how she saw it. For my part, I figured that, as I was the one earning money, I should have my way all the time. It never occurred to me that she might he unhappy, since she never seemed to be angry -- " -- something like that. Lots of things in that area.

That sounds exactly like his character on Boston Legal. I watch that show and laugh so hard, he just says the most outrageous things.

That's hilarious. Most of his characters do seem a bit debaucherous and self-serving.

I know! But for some reason they make me laugh so hard. I find him kinda endearing. Like he just needs someone to take the edge off.
