    Default Food Network stars..

My tv is permanently on the Food network..curious on how others would type the stars...Specifically:

    Giada De Laurentiis
    Emeril
    Bobby Flay
    Paula Dean
Dave Lieberman (this guy makes me smile ear to ear the whole time. He fascinates me, haha.)
    Tyler Florence

I've been wanting to do this topic for awhile (I love the food network too ) and have to add these people to the list of ones I want to know...

Rachael Ray (ENFj? (but somehow seems too um.... genuine? so I also think some SF))
    Mario Batali (SF)
    Alton Brown (alpha NT)
Jamie Oliver (the brit Oliver's Twist guy (my fav to watch probably))

    That's because he's ENFp, lol.

I can't really watch any of the other hosts on that channel as they are very, very irritating (esp. Rachel Ray, Emeril, and Paula Dean), but I do like Nigella Lawson lots. I don't know what type she is, but her speech has a considerable amount of in it.

You think dave liebermans an enfp? Ah, i melt when i watch that guy. I'm sure i look like a pathetic schoolgirl..i sit in front of the tv in awe, lol! pathetic really, haha.

The only person i can't tolerate is giada del..however you spell it. It gets old hearing her describe the food into such detail. Just cook the damn stuff already! Not a big fan of Emeril either really.

    <3 ahhh he's great.

He's not on as regularly as the rest of the others for some reason. Usually on weekends during the afternoon.

Yeah, I can't really see him as any other type. He's not hyper enough to be ENFj. He has those slightly stoned eyes.

Giada I don't mind so much, except she's always baring those enormous teeth. Alton is probably the most consistantly watchable.

thank you, i'm glad i'm not the only person who finds it sign-of-the-timesish scary that there is a whole television network dedicated to food.

regarding nigella lawson, she does use a good deal of huh? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7wfaOPHOZI

There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking full advantage of what you've got. Nigella has single-handedly contributed to the tarting-up of food television. Even the shots of food on her show are pornographic. I applaud her and her bosoms.

"i love nuts and heavenly, luscious cherries."

my problem with it is mostly that it exists in a nation that is not exactly known for its slim and healthy citizens, rather its 24-hour fast food joints.

I don't really watch much TV, so when I do I'm often disturbed by how stupid the general population must be.

Haha. Watching Alton host Iron Chef, and listening to Michael Chiarello describe food prep/consumption as an experience in it of itself , relaxes me. I'm not sure about the ones you specified, but I have impressions of the following.

    Emeril: ESFj
    Giada: INTj
Nigella: ISFp (So earthy and real)
    Rachel Ray: ISTj
Alton: ENTp (His show, Good Eats, tunned me in to foodnetwork. I love how he goes into the chemistry of food)!
    Sandra Lee: ENFj

Giada De Laurentiis: ISTj (maybe ESFj or possibly ISFj)
    Emeril Lagasse: ESTj
Bobby Flay: ENTj - always on the go!

(I'm typing based off youtube here.)

For serious! That episode created more of that impression.

I find it near impossible to type females as --->ISTj. The feminine qualities fool me. Rachel Ray is my first. Tyra Banks is my second.

They are both very dynamic and expressive. Are ISTjs like that? Laugh at me, but Rachel Ray could be a hyper ENTj. She reminds me of my boyfriend when he cooks and explains things to me.

fwiw, my mom says the same thing -- that i remind her of rachel ray a lot. i'd never watched her until now. also, apparently we use the same method to open jars so maybe we have that much in common. /:

i just didn't immediately think ISTj, but i don't have much experience with female ISTjs either.

People didn't know there was a food channel?? I remember being 5 and watching Julia Child and Two Fat Ladies. It's the only channel I can really tolerate.

40 dollars a day is one of my favorites even though it's entirely too corny. And I'm sorry, but I don't see how anyone could type Rachel Ray as an introvert. If she is, i'd really hate to see an extrovert.

I don't know... it's soothing. I don't even use any of the recipes really (I have a pretty good natural cooking sense myself and tend to just wing it with things)

I just find watching that channel relaxing...

Is there any normal activity you don't find pointless? I watch it because I like it. Why does anyone watch tv? They enjoy it.

I got the impression that part of the extroversion comes from being an on-air-personality. A sort of learned behavior. I got a sense that she purposefully amps it up for the audience. Even going over the top a lot of the time. Oh yeah and her "corniness"...is a major part of why I got the ISTj impression. Those jokes she makes! OMG.

Yeah, traveling around like that has got to be pretty rewarding. Never seen Globe Trekker! At least the title doesn't strike a cord.
