I think ESTj is very possible, but I have to think further.

    Default John McCain

I'm thinking John McCain is an ESFJ.

He clearly values his independence. He goes out of his way to get people to like him even when there's no political advantage to doing so. Also, he doesn't apologize over every joke he makes. Instead he tells people to lighten up and live a little when they're offended. One big example of this was when someone said something about Iran having the bomb, and he ad-libbed "Bom-bom-bom, bom-bom-aran" to the tune of that dumb song "Ba-ba-baran". The media confronted him about it, and he defended his right to joke with his veteran friends. It was a dumb joke sure, but so was the song it was based on. Nobody sane would take that as a serious threat in my opinion.

good case, but i think he's more LSE. i can see why this would point to ESE, but i think this sort of thing is more an innocuous, harmless kind of joke that more closely points to the Si-related points of his memory than anything else.

no, i think that most of the time he's a very serious, dry, matter-of-fact person who takes his principles very seriously and who is very focused on what he perceives as his duty rather than anything to do with fun or emotional atmosphere.

compared to bill clinton for example he seems much less animated and much more serious.

I'm very liberal, left-wing but I can't help liking McCain. He comes across both in his manner and his actions as independent, principled, honest and decent. Alot of liberals seem to think likewise, although still wouldn't vote for him given the chance. What is it about him?

I don't find him particularly boring. Actually, I like the guy, much more so than his fellows. But, yeah, he's practically a fossil. Anyone who votes for him in the general election better take a close look at his VP candidate.

it basically suggested that eunice would find mccain more interesting if he exuded more Fe and Se.

Actually he is only around 2 years older than Ronald Reagan was when he was elected to his first season. And Reagan did a full 8 years. Of course nearing the end Reagan got a little bit crazy in the head.

he is a fossil. why do we get these psychologically damanged old crusty nut cases on the right wing side. love how ronald reagan got alzheimers eventually...perfect karama for a man acting as an insider for joseph mccarthy and lying on the stand saying he couldn't recall about iran contra .... i wish hunter s. thompson had been around to write about ronald reagans death like he did write about when richard nixon died...something about being a rat in hell.

Perhaps the issue is, then, why you find them boring and unattractive, and why being "boring and unattractive" is such a big turn-off for you.

It seems to me that she's actually finding specific individuals typed as Delta - McCain in this case - to be "boring and unattractive". I can't see a case for the "rebelling against stereotype", not in this thread. Otherwise it's just a pointless comment. But, whatever.

I hadn't really considered ESI before, but now that I do, it seems very, very plausible.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...
