I used to lie a lot. I pretty much always got away with it

It's not healthy, though. It catches up to you.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Why do/did you have reason to lie so much?

Most NJ types have a bad memory because of weak sensory element.

Most types feel bad when they are told lies.

well mostly because i can see two sides of an argument and can pretty much agree with both. i'll side with one view. then the next day i'll say totally the opposite.

That is not necessarily lying. That is just being argumentative, which sometimes requires that you argue for something you may not believe.

not really. but then i don't lie often. and when i do, i know to keep it minimal and close to the truth to reduce the probability of being caught in precisely the situation you describe.

however, my mother (ISTj), often constructs logical reasonings to back up her opinion which, if flawed, can be easily picked apart because eventually she will say something that contradicts herself (i consider this is because sometimes she uses logic to support opinion, instead of generating opinion out of logical reasoning - especially in matters where she has prior bias, so this backwards usage of logic is not a sturdy construction).

when one is not lying, arguments are based with best effort on principles and facts, which are 'real' and 'permanent'. therefore if the reasoning is good, you don't have to remember what you said before, because your reasoning will always hold, and can always be derived again. this is why in school i prefer to understand the subject as a system of knowledge, because i can't stand memorisation. lying and hypothetical argument is essentially the same as telling the truth, except that you're basing your arguments on an imaginary platform of alternate principles and conjecture. so if you manage to make that imaginary framework real enough, the lie will be more successful. poorly-constructed frameworks require more effort to keep intact, since it is easily unravelled by accidentally saying something that tears apart the imaginary reality.

my lying goes something like this, i tell my friend that i have no ego(to explain why i have no motivation to finish her drawing), because i dont have opinions, gives them motivation and that the ego is subjective and only boosts what people wants. the next day i say, i don't like eggplants, and my friend says i thought you didnt have an ego?

everyone has an ego :smacks my forhead:

Well, is a conscious function for me, so I will go ahead and answer.

    Yes.

Dude, lying is fun as hell. I was at a college party a couple years ago with a female friend of mine, and I had this entire group of about 15 people convinced I was a rich British socialite on holiday. People who know me will tell you I'm good with accents and impersonations, and I had these kids absolutely fooled, but then Katelyn walks over and says "he's not really British, don't listen to him." wtf.

I hate it when people do that. See McNew for details.

Telling the truth is much fore daring and exciting. Anyone can lie.

Telling the truth just gets you into trouble...it's hardly daring and exciting. Whereas with lying, part of the fun of commiting a murder is to see if you can get away with it by telling massive porkies to the rozzers - now that's daring and exciting...I'd imagine...

well if the truth is not exciting then you are not exciting and that is where the problem is. Good thing trying to compensate with lying up stories. I don't blame you, I can see myself doing it. =(
