edit: Something noteworthy is his strong Se value shown in his humor, something I relate to doing from time to time (in the same sense that I get around to Se from time to time) and value and value those who understand, which to put if briefly, is finding humor in appearances. An Se valuer is more likely to laugh at something that sounds funny even if its not funny, like someone's name, for instance. It's a much more appearances--->imagination, Se---->Ni, built technique. A lot of Ne/Si types I find are a lot more serious in this regard, in that they typically don't attribute any thought to the surface appearance (Se) and what the surface appearance stands for underneath (Ni), but rather aim for the more guessing because clueless, open to various interpretations and possibilities, partly because they don't have introverted judgment paired with the sensory function, and partly because of the nature of Se valuing. A humor in simple appearance somewhat akin to something an idiot-savant type of humorist might appreciate, which has immature qualities, is less appealing to judicious types, from what I have seen. There are some self-typed Alphas in this community that come across much more like Beta (LSI) partly for this reason, and lack what Ne actually is.

Dude, that is so! Indeed, I used to think it's caused by Ni even in Se types, but actually you're right, Se appearances -> Ni imaginary associations - and actually it surely relates to common dichotomies, the ones of Decisive (first impression matters). I wonder how many understand this or its importance in identification, even if it may happen that people get influenced by the relatives.

So you say that you're on the laughing @ appearances, or you're on any side, depending on your mood?

Edit: yes, yes for sure it applies to that dichotomy: Introverted + Internal or Extroverted + External. The experience convinced me about this: for example a lot LSEs may laugh at this thing, I remember so clearly I had an LSE workmate (manager) who was laughing at such things from time to time, for example when someone was joining together two words in speech resulting something embarrassing or funny from that, and the opposite, Beta Rationals are much more sober about this. Also, I remember in my first steps in typing, when I was looking for compatibility issues, that I read on the Personality Page that I'd be compatible with INFj (the personalitypage.com INFj/INFp descriptions correspond to the Socionics types) - but I was always found them frivolous as in humor, "laughing at circumstantial crap without any deeper realism". For example to people who make faces, circus stuff, clowns (I hate clowns!!) or unfortunate double meaning of some words.

So:
- laughing at appearances: all Ni/Se types, with a lesser extent on Merry Rationals
- avoiding laughing at appearances: Ne/Si types, with a lesser extent Serious Rationals.

Edit2: I noted that cacophony is taken seriously by these types above. I personally find it ridiculous, to avoid joining different words because they could affect your image, or whatever such things, but others indeed are concerned about it, sounds like foolish mistakes for them.

There's one more thing I remember connected to this: once I was working with an ILI and we were alone in one room of the workplace, the guy liked to make atmosphere there, to look as a mysterious "geek room". One guy (SLI) entered the room and asked some questions about that (I think about the light and closed door), and jokingly, I said that it's for intimacy. The ILI jumped up like burned asking what do I mean, maybe do I mean "privacy" instead? I confirmed, and they told me that although in the context the words would have similar meaning, "intimacy" should be avoided for its connotations (I assume the sexual ones). I felt so... jeez, it sucked! I became very formal with the ILI guy and was talking to him only what was necessary.
