The children took over for church service yesterday. Besides having the wisemen show up two years early and pigs in a Jewish stable, they changed one word in a well-known Christmas carol. "Why lies he in such mean estate, where ox and ass are feeding" became "...where ox and donkey are feeding." It's a synonym...no biggie. They didn't want the immature audience to fuss about it. But "donkey" has two syllables, and "ass" has one. The song sounded wrong....
