The use of the word "Interventions" implies that houses are going to be raided, when this is simply not the case.

Heath, you have once again caused me to be speechless. It appears that you have taken the first half of one sentence and the last half of another sentence, and the two together.

Does the bill actually propose that people will be vaccinated against their will and in their "private homes"? If you object children not being allowed to school because they have not had an innoculation against certain diseases, then you must remember that you leave in a democracy and that the children can always be homeschooled if you wish to impose that on your children.

Jacobson v. Massachusetts - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
In the United States, the Supreme Court ruled in the 1905 case Jacobson v. Massachusetts that the state could require individuals to be vaccinated for the common good. Common contemporary U.S. vaccination policies require that children receive common vaccinations before entering school. A few other countries also have some compulsory vaccinations. Compulsory vaccination is believed to have greatly reduced the rates of some infectious diseases.[5]

hahah read the article! oh man, they ARE going to vaccine us against individuality and capitalism! hahahah, brilliant.

honestly i don't think they are going to come knocking on your middle class suburb door(you probably get all of your shots taken care of free of worry because you have health insurance). this will probably benefit truant students in low income neighborhoods.

they'll have their tetanus shots. but at what cost, my freedom?

I don't think it's really a way of "forcing" parents, as the reason for the vaccines is to stop the spread of disease.

You'd think that it wouldn't be a problem for vaccinated kids to intermingle with those who have not been vaccinated...but having carriers of a disease in proximity with other individuals increases the chance of the disease mutating to a form that even the vaccinated kids have not been protected against.

There might be an issue where a state has compulsory school attendance and compulsory vaccination where the parents are unable or unwilling to homeschool their children.

I've never received a single vaccination in my life. Neither have my kids. Laws vary from state to state, but in every one I've lived in (which is 8) you only have to go to the health department and fill out an exemption form for the purposes of school. I went through all my years of school, and graduated from university without a single shot, and zero trouble about it.

This is how it works:

It varies from state to state. In most states the Governer recomends to the schools to require its attendents certain vaccines. It is not law for any public instition to force vaccines, but instead in most cases (Florida being one of them) it is school policy that the students have the vaccines. The student will not be allowed to attend school unless he or she has the vaccine. So instead the state will charge the parents with truancy after 100 days of their child missing school. The school administrators will tell you that it is the law, and that they do not accept waver forms, however in most cases there is no law that requires you to take a vaccine.
